Awwww! I'm really loving your posts. Such a lovely decor idea for cakes!Hello folks, hope you are all well
I generally don't make things out of boxes but I was given a couple of boxes of White Wings Yuletide chocolate log mixes....turns out they are just Swiss Rolls so I jazzed the decorations up a bit....they were delicious View attachment 23918

Have you also noticed they have shrunk in size. I will buy shop ones when I'm making trifle and I'm in a hurryI would never get sick of eating this.
The Swiss roll from the Supermarket here had no filling & was dry to taste. When l complained to my wife she informed me it was her (& not our daughter) who bought it. If l don't tell her, who will? With her consent l threw the rest into the trash bin.
That's one of the creams I useI just use Woolworths brand thickened cream and add icing sugar and vanilla when I whip it....cheers
That's how my Mum made hers sometimes....messy but very delicious....will do it that way next time I reckon....thanks for the memory flashback WolverhamptonI do something with the jam roll, freeze it then roll it in hot jelly and roll it in coconut
