Is your vehicle at risk? Authorities issue immediate recall for these popular utes and vans

Vehicle recalls are a serious matter, and for owners of certain popular utes and vans in Australia, it's time to take note.

Several popular vehicle models have been issued recall notices due to potential safety issues.

The recalls, involving different models from notable brands, highlight concerns over software and manufacturing defects that could pose risks to drivers and other road users.

The Ram 1500 and LDV Deliver 9 models, both distributed by Ateco Group, have been issued with recall notices that could affect your safety on the road.

The Australian Government’s vehicle recall regulator has announced that a total of 2,612 Ram 1500 vehicles and a staggering 11,962 LDV Deliver 9 vehicles are impacted by these recalls.

If you own one of these models, it's crucial to understand the risks and take immediate action.

For the Ram 1500, built between 2023 and 2024, there's a software defect in the steering control module that could lead to indicator signals remaining active after the vehicle has turned.

According to the recall notice, ‘If the turn signal indicators do not operate as intended, other road users may be unable to identify if the vehicle is turning. This could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to the vehicle occupants and/or other road users.’

The defect may also cause the vehicle's high beam lights to turn on sporadically, further increasing the risk of an accident.

This is not the first time the Ram 1500 has faced recall issues; previous notices have been issued for defects that could affect the deployment of the driver’s airbag and the functionality of the anti-lock braking system and electronic stability control.

Similar to earlier recalls, owners can verify if their vehicle is impacted by checking here.

Owners of the affected units were advised to reach out to their closest Ram Trucks dealer to get the defect in their vehicle fixed at no cost.

Meanwhile, the LDV Deliver 9, with models built between 2021 and 2023, has a different issue—a manufacturing defect in the fuel delivery line.

The recall notice stated, ‘The low-pressure fuel delivery line may not meet specifications. As a result, it may deteriorate, allowing fuel to leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an external ignition source could result in a vehicle fire.’

‘A vehicle fire could cause injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property.’

Deliver 9 owners can verify if their vehicle is affected by checking here.

Like the Ram recall, they are encouraged to contact their nearest dealer for a free inspection and repair of the fuel line.

Between Honda, Volvo, Ram and LDV and a few days that's 30,000 vehicles and they worry about phone drivers and drink drivers.
And so they should worry about drivers using their phones & drink drivers. Both have the sheer potential to kill themselves & any passengers in their cars plus other innocent drivers & their passengers who are doing the right thing.

NOVEZAR.

Too many cars being recalled. What has happened to quality control standards? Too much hurry and neglect of standards to quality products without defects.
