Is the rise of 'King William’ tearing the Royal Family apart’?

As the sun sets on one era and the dawn of another approaches, the Royal Family finds itself at the heart of speculation and uncertainty.

The whispers of 'King William' echo through the corridors of Buckingham Palace, stirring up a tempest that threatens to shake the monarchy's very foundations.

In April, palace officials revisited plans for King Charles' eventual funeral, codenamed Operation Menai Bridge, sparking a flurry of concern.

The health of the monarch has been a topic of hushed conversations, and the notion of Prince William ascending the throne as King William V sooner than anticipated has sent ripples of disquiet throughout the royal household.

A report from The Daily Beast, titled 'Secret Plans for King Charles’ Death Are Already Tearing the Royal Family Apart’, reported the 'planning and positioning' for Prince William's potential reign has reportedly begun in earnest, despite King Charles appearing to be in relatively good health.

The idea of 'King William' has seemingly put everyone on edge.

There have been ‘moments this year’ when the royal courtiers, family members, and aides have been gripped by a wave of 'what-happens-now horror and doubt’, particularly during instances of King Charles' health scares.

The courtiers and aides, perhaps still reeling from Queen Elizabeth's abrupt dismissal of her staff upon her passing, are said to be anxiously contemplating their future roles and quietly polishing their resumes in anticipation of another seismic shift within the palace walls.

The Royal Family dynamics are also under the microscope, with Prince Harry's estrangement casting a long shadow over future reconciliations.

A report suggested that once Prince William takes the throne, the door for Harry's return may close.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla's position appears precarious; while she has been 'tolerated' by Prince William but ‘never liked, let alone loved’.

The question of her residence and financial security post-Charles is a topic of fervent speculation.

Rumours swirl about King Charles' desire for Prince Andrew to vacate the Royal Lodge to make way for Camilla—a plan that Prince Andrew is reportedly resisting, betting that it will be a low priority for William once he is king.

William is a different person from his father or aunt. He bottles things up and relies on Catherine to fix the problems with his courtiers. It has always been my personal belief that there was jealousy between William and Harry when their mother, Diana, was alive. Diana loved both boys but she was closer to Harry because he was always the Spare. The time has come for King Charles to call a meeting of his sons and his wife Camilla and lay down the future of the Monarchy. Camilla has been named Queen by Charles. Will William make Catherine his Queen and leave Camilla to retreat from her duties as she does to support King Charles, she has been an asset to the Monarchy and needs to get respect from the two Princes. William and Harry.

The ascension of William I believe will start a new chapter for the family, he and Catherine are immensely popular. There is still a significant percentage who do not accept Charles and Camilla - they broke all the rules. It will be a clean start, whether Harry is involved or not, although mending fences inside the family would be a good thing all round. Catherine WILL be Queen, she is already a Princess. Camilla should return to Highgrove as a Duchess perhaps, certainly not a Dowager Queen. The monarchy cannot be mended until William is King.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are due to visit Australia from 18th October meeting in Canberra and Sydney ( no mention of other states). His Dr is travelling with them. He is still having weekly Chemo, but has permission for a break while away.
Also going to Samoa for 2 days for Commonwealth meeting.
Away 11 days
Prime Minister Albanese is speaking of Australia becoming a Republic. Another Referendum under discussion

Will be interesting. I don't know if it's good or not. Other members would have some interesting thoughts.

If we do become a Republic, do Premiers for each state /territory still exist? directly elected head of state for Australia would promote our economic opportunities, and that can lead to more investment and jobs. A directly elected head of state would also help develop greater involvement in our system of government by giving Australian voters a say in picking their head of state.
This is what I find on Google

But it seems we could still be a member of the Commonwealth ?

A popularly elected head of state would have the same powers as the monarch, but he or she could not dismiss the prime minister. If this were to happen, it would be a first, as all other former Commonwealth realms have created presidencies upon becoming republics.

I wonder why we need a Royal Family. Wouldn’t it be better to have someone voted in by the people such as in USA a President or Australia a Prime Minister?
Please get us some better quality material to even start thinking of such matters. Elections loom and the selection on offer …….brrr….mediocrity reigns supreme!

I think William and Kate will be popular when Charles dies. I realise a lot of Australians want a Republic instead of the Royals. Not sure what/who will be replaced for the job. People even oppose our serving Prime Ministers, whenever they get elected.

I can't wait for Camilla to get what she deserves. She should get nothing at all, not enough years have gone under the bridge for her to expect respect.
So william coming to the throne maybe a very very good thing he doesn't like her, she in independent wealthy so,is of no need to drain the coffers, she is of no meaning to any of them and she has her own children to care for her.
One would hope that William maybe the last king and the royalty might just fade away.

The palace and various others (Army Air Force, Navy, etc) all have protocols in place if a monach passes away whether expected or not. Those protocols and lists of duties to be carried out by all are updated on a very regular basis. So naturally they are preparing for Charle’s death and will prepare for Williams for the day he becomes king. Do you really believe all the pomp and pageantry comes together so faultlessly in a few days?!

I am surprised you did not learn the answers to your very simple questions at school. I am 81 and were learned all these things about our system of government. Will there still be premiers, really is that a serious question. Long live our constitutional monarchy form of government and Albanese will never ever again get an opportunity to a referendum to the people.

l like Camilla and she is by all accounts a very nice person.Whats passed should be forgotten it's certainly been long enough. Don't blame Camilla for everything .Diana was very naive and far too young and it is very sad what she went through but saying that she certainly soon grew up and gave back what she got.
