Introducing myself

Thank you for your welcome message. No, I am not 56, unfortunately, it’s the year I was born. I am a retired? registered nurse, who misses her job, but certainly doesn’t miss the bureaucracy that comes with the job these days. Proud to be a nurse, but how things have changed since I began on this career path. Some for the good and others for the bad. Built in Queensland ~3 years ago and moved up here a year ago. Loving it.

Welcooooome @Carleen 56 ! We're delighted to have you as a part of the group :) Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself.

What's the best part about being a nurse? :)

My favourite part of being a nurse was caring for Indigenous Australians when I was lucky enough to do so. I was a theatre nurse and Indigenous Australians are always uncomfortable when being intubated. I felt honoured to be able to hold their hand when they were going to sleep and being part of a team who cared, every time.

Hi Carleen, nurses don't get the recognition they deserve. You did what I want to do....build and move somewhere new

This made me a little emotional. Hats off to you, @Carleen 56 ! What a lovely soul you have.
