Hi Sethia, firstly thank you for the lovely welcome. the best thing about volunteering in the village is meeting new people every day and talking to them about my passion the history of the village and our city life of Warrnambool and the regional tourist destinations that are so varied and close by within short driving distant of each other. :) I tried to upload a photograph of myself in costume but wouldn't allow.
Oh, dear :( I wish I could see the picture! But that sounds SO lovely. Hoping I can drop by for a visit someday. I would love to hear stories from you!

Thanks Sethia for the welcome! Spending quality time with my family and friends, and feeling the warmth of the sunshine on chilly days always give me a buzz. Winter is not my favorite season. 🥶🙈
I can definitely relate! Hahaha! Winter never fails to make my muscles ache... And my poor cat hates the freezing cold weather too. I do like it a little better than incredibly humid weather though. Thanks for getting back to me. :)

42 years! That's an amazing feat :) Can you tell us the secret?

Oh, and welcome to the forum! We're happy to have you here. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself :D

Hi All,
Just joined live in Brisbane. Retired on Dec 21st and my Dad went into hospital on 20th Dec with multiple fractures on his back, he fell at home. I got the breakfast shift at the hospital was there every day at 8am, my sister his carer lunch time and my brother evening meal. He was 92 he recovered from his back fractures and also superbug C-Diff and Ecoli from his bloodstream from hospital, we had to put him in a nursing home as our house had 30 steps and since not walking and his COPD he was discharged 23rd Feb. Was doing good in nursing home we still had our shifts but on 22nd April he passed away, funeral was on 2nd May so I am still very sad but glad he is now with my Mum.
Looking forward now to my retirement.

Hi, @lowung! It wouldn't hurt to apply ;)! Having a seniors card will make you eligible for several special deals that are meant for those over 60. If you're interested, I'd be happy to leave you a message on how you can do so. We're not directly affiliated with any government services, but we'd be happy to point you in the right direction!
Hi Sethia,
Thank you...yes please. Would you kindly forward details on how to apply and pricing as well. Is it a physical card or can it be accessed digitally?
