However, a recent product recall by ALDI serves as an important reminder that safety should be the number one priority when purchasing outdoor lighting.
The Casalux Solar LED street light, a popular pick among ALDI’s offerings, has been recalled urgently due to its fire risk.
It was reported that the item’s internal batteries had the potential to dangerously overheat while charging.
There have been reports where these charging batteries have not only overheated but have also exploded, melted and set alight.
Overheating batteries that catch fire pose a serious risk of property damage, serious injury, or death.
The item was exclusively sold in ALDI stores nationwide.
The LED street lights sold between September 23, 2023, and October 27, 2023, bear the model number WFD-SPL004, which can be located on the compliance label under the solar panel.
Customers are advised to stop the usage of the product immediately to prevent any mishaps. They are also advised to return the product to an ALDI store for a full refund.
