IKEA's latest collection will help you master the '70s and '80s aesthetic
Are you trying to find something special to give your home a pop of colour look? Not sure what to pick and where to start?
Well, you're in luck because we have just the thing for you…
IKEA is celebrating its 80th year in the retail space, and to mark the special occasion it’s bringing back some of its beloved items from the vault!
The NYTILLVERKAD (Swedish for ‘newly-made’) collection is a series of classic retro designs characterised by bold, bright colours, striking patterns, and clean, simple shapes.
This collection is perfect for those looking to ‘make a home statement’ or simply add ‘subtle touches of vibrancy’ to their homes.
Many of the products in the NYTILLVERKAD collection were first sold back in the 70s and 80s, and are now being brought back to meet a new generation.
‘We wanted the pieces to stand on their own, like sculptures that stand out in any room,’ said Karin Gustavsson, the Creative Leader behind the NYTILLVERKAD collection.
IKEA is not only updating its classic products but also reimagining them in ways that incorporate modern materials and technology, including the use of pre-cut fabric—the first time in its more than 50-year history.
‘We wanted to bring back our favourites and remake them with the technology and material of today,’ Sebastian Svensson, Product Innovation Leader of IKEA of Sweden said.
Some of the highlights from the NYTILLVERKAD furniture range include:
