If you could go back in time, what piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

I thought it would be fun to do a quick 'get to know each other' session. This Thursday afternoon, the SDC team would love to know what advice you would give to your younger self if you could go back in time.

I (Sethia) would tell my younger self that she’s enough! It can be easy to pick ourselves apart, especially when things don’t go our way or we lose control of a situation. But even with all our flaws, it’s nice to be reminded that we don’t need to be perfect to warrant acceptance, love, and respect. How about you? Share your answer with us in the comments!

I would tell my self to enjoy today because the one thing you can't get back is time.

I loved and would do anything for my kids and gave 100% of me to them.
I would tell my younger self to take time out and smell the roses because all the house work would still be there

I would also tell my self to spend more time with the the loved ones who have passed

I would marry the same girl again have two more kids making 4 and enjoy life to the best that you can. Because you never know what the future holds my life changed 22 years ago when my fantastic wife of over 40 yrs passed away. Advice to the kids if they bring a pill out to stop you getting old buy two in case the first one doesn't work.

I would tell my younger self with urgency not to veer of the path that l was on as l was doing well as it would continue to cause heartache and misery to others as well as myself but l cannot do that. All that l can do now is to continue on that path which l have stayed off amd use the hand l have now about 25 years later and return to that path. I cannot repair the damage that l have caused but l will try to fix up any other future damages accidently or deliberately🤞🙏

I too would tell my younger self not to give in to fear, go try anything you want. Think more positively about yourself, don’t let the bullying and negative, snide comments from fellow school /social contacts worry you so much. I was subjected to so much of this because I came from a large poor family, wore glasses and had freckles. Everything changed from the moment I met my wonderful husband when I was 19, he made me feel special and to this day tells me how beautiful I am, glasses and freckles included. Married almost 49 years. Best decision I ever made.

I would tell myself the same as I told my kids, put your hand up for everything, take every opportunity offered. What's the worst that could happen, somebody might say no and then you're no worse off than before but, if they say yes then a whole new world could open up for you. Also, do what makes you happy not necessarily what makes you rich. If the two come together that's a bonus but it's far better to be happy and content than rich and sad/bored.
