Hurry! This crowd-favourite KFC dupe from Woolies is half-price!

We all know how delicious fried chicken from KFC is. The combination of that crispy outer layer and the juicy, flavourful meat on the inside is just pure heaven, which is why we can never say no to it… even when we're trying to eat healthily!

Of course, we still get peckish for those world-famous chicken fillets every once in a while, but we all know that getting takeaway all the time isn't the most time or money-efficient option.

The good news is that there's an alternative for when those cravings hit – and you can find it right in your local Woolworths freezer aisle!

Just last month, we talked about how several shoppers have gone wild for a chicken item in the Woolworths’ frozen food aisle that tastes ‘exactly’ like a burger from KFC – with some declaring it’s even better than the fast food giant’s.

Shoppers have gone wild over a new price deal on KFC chicken dupe at Woolies. Credit: Woolworths.

The product in question is the Tegel Take Outs' Louisiana Style Burger, which was widely regarded as a superb alternative to KFC.

But what makes this dupe quite better is that instead of being deep-fried in all that oil, these burgers are designed to be cooked in an air fryer (or baked in the oven, as some of our members here at the SDC have said!) for a healthier option.

Tip
If you don't have an air fryer at home, you can cook these chicken fillets in the oven by baking them for about 5–8 minutes longer than usual.

Of course, something as amazing as this chicken product comes with a drawback, and that is the rather expensive price point.

The product has a retail price of $14, and the label indicates that it can provide four to five servings, which is equivalent to around 600 grams of chicken. Many of our members said this is usually way out of their price range, so they often skip this product at the store.

We are pleased to let you know, however, that Woolworths has just reduced the price of this popular chicken buy. They discounted the price from $14 to $7 – yes, you read that correctly... that's half the original cost!

You must, however, act quickly if you want to take advantage of this offer because it is only valid through this Tuesday, October 25.

I have tried this brand of chicken and I just love picking off the outer layer of crumbs, it is so yummy n crunchy. A lot better than our local KFC.

Now, as for the discount. My wife works at a Woolies store. So I can vouch as a personal shopper that the half-price sale is a regular discount. It occurs around every 3rd week. eg; first week is the normal price of $14, next week is 40% off then 3rd week is 50% 0ff at $7. So no need to rush in, just wait for the cycle to return, just like we do for fuel.

Oh the chicken itself. It is bloody bewdiful.

Oh & the chicken burger is delicious-oso. It makes a wonderful burger with mayo and Woolies' $3 pack of iceberg lettuce.

I also buy Woolies frozen chicken wing nibbles when they are on special. These too are far better than KFC and done in an air fryer.:)

Ever since SDC ran the article about 4 weeks ago, I've been looking in Woolies. There's spots for 2 types.....chicken fillets and chicken pieces.
Both have tags Temporarily unavailable.
Both have 1/2 price tags.
$7 for 6 pieces is a good price.
Just wish they had stock.

Just read the good reviews about this product

YES, I've been buying these for last 4-5 months, best to buy when on the 50% advertised sale($7.00)

The burger patties come in 600g bags, whilst the crumbed pieces are in 1kg bags

the crumbed pieces usually weigh slightly over 1kg, have between 6 -9 pieces depending on the composition, wings, thighs, breasts, etc

not a bad import from New Zealand!!
