HOW TO SPOT A FAKE EMAIL

Click on the name just above your name on the Email. For example “ SeniorDiscountClub” . This will bring up the sender’s email address:- [email protected]. If it’s fake the address will be different. I recently received an email telling me my McAfee virus had expired. Clicking on the name a gmail account came up. FAKE! What I do is block the contact and delete the email.
Try it yourself with your SDC email.
Please pass this on it will save many from nasty surprises.

Heres another tip
If you purchase online get yourself an Auspost Travel Card. It’s a Mastercard you transfer money to. It does not link to any of your bank accounts keeping them safe. It’s now the only way I purchase online. If they won’t accept the card you just saved yourself a lot of headaches.

I keep getting the same scam emails from McAfee saying it is urgent, last chance etc etc and I don't even have McAfee software! Blck and delete yes but also report it as phishing. To do this right click on the email - no need to open it - and find the 'report' option. Hover over that and there will be three options - report phishing, report a concern and not junk. Select report phishing and the email sender will be blocked and the email removed from your inbox. You can then go to your deleted box and delete there too if you want.

To block a sender or report spam or report phishing in gmail open the email, click the three dots icon at the top-right corner, above the email body. A drop-down menu list of options will appear. Select block sender, or report spam or report phishing.

Thank you very much for that. That has helped me a lot. Have a good weekend
