She posted her new ‘hack’ in Cleaning & Organising Inspiration Australia.

‘Coles soap pads - $1.30 for 10. I used one and didn’t even destroy it,’ she wrote.

She also shared ‘before and after’ photos of her transformed oven door, and told everyone that it didn’t take much effort on her end to achieve.

‘It’s not perfect but it took me less than two minutes total,’ she said.

‘Didn’t have to take the glass out at all.’

The savvy shopper reassured everyone that the steel wool pad didn’t damage or scratch her glass oven door.

‘The scourer part is more in the centre, which is why they have the term pads,’ she explained. The scourer is the steel wool or plastic mesh that scrubs away the pesky grime and grease from our kitchen appliances.

‘I’ve never had a scratch on any surface and I’ve used these for years,’ she admitted.

Another Coles shopper shared her technique and said: ‘I soaked mine in hot tap water for 10 seconds and then gently rubbed it on the door of the oven. And then I used paper towels to wipe the oven. I repeated the process once.’

Other social media users were quick to agree that the inexpensive cleaning tool was handy to use around the home.

‘Yep, the quickest, cheapest, easiest way to clean,’ someone shared.

‘They are the best thing to ever clean the oven. No harsh stinky chemicals. So quick and efficient. I swear by them too!’ Added another.

A third replied: ‘Another perfect display of someone reminding us that older products are often better at doing the job they were designed for. Simple cleaning.’
