Homemade tia maria

Ingredients​

Ingredients​

  • 4 tsp. instant coffee (substitute instant espresso)
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar, or to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups cold distilled water
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 750 ml (26 oz.) 94% alcohol Footnote

Directions​

  • In a measuring cup, add instant coffee and boiling water; stir until the granules are dissolved and set aside.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and cold water; stir until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and let it sit for 15 minutes or until it gets to room temperature.
  • Add vanilla, coffee and alcohol to sugar mixture; stir very well and transfer to a liqueur decanter. Let it rest for 3 to 4 weeks before serving.

Notes​

Footnote: If you cannot find alcohol in your area, substitute with vodka.

I think the 94% alcohol is like rocket fuel and you can sub this with vodka as it may be hard to get??
