My weakness is Potato Chips , now these ones are a little less guilt free and cheaper.
Also they are on hand and ready in a few minutes
Who would have thought you could make chips within minutes
in the microwave? They easy to make, and also healthier than shop brought ones.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 4-6 minutes
Ingredients:
1 medium-size potato , I peel mine but you don't need to.
1 tbsp olive oil
salt to taste
ice water
Method:
• Line a large microwave-safe plate with baking paper. • Slice the potatoes as thinly as you can, approx. 2–3 mm
• Place the slices in a bowl of ice water to remove the starch and then dry both
sides on a paper towel.
• Place the slices in a bowl and drizzle over the oil. Mix well to make sure the
potato slices are coated in the oil.
• Place in a single layer on the prepared plate and sprinkle with a little salt. • Microwave on high for 2–3 minutes, then turn the slices and microwave for
another 2–3 minutes or until crisp and lightly browned.
• Cool on a wire rack. They will get crispier once cooled.
Serves: 1
Note
Can be cooked in a preheated oven 180°C 160 fan-forced for 15 minutes but microwave works the same and is much quicker
