Coffee grounds are great for the garden but should be spread sparingly and raked in if possible piling too deep to mimic mulch can cause problems going mouldy and releasing too much salts in the grounds.

I have a native only garden, so do any of these food items apply?
I think all items would be safe, they are all natural. Epsom salts sound harsh but it is only magnesium and sulfur which is essential for chlorophyl developement which keeps the plant healthy. But, I`d get advice regarding it`s safety on natives and how much you can or need to use. However, I would use only Organic "Blood and Bone" on my natives.

I wouldn’t put coffee grounds or epsom salts on native plants they are sensitive to to too much nitrogen and both the grinds and epsom salt turn your soil towards the acidic scale good for gardenias and plants that grow in slightly acidic soils. For native gardens if you want to fertilize natives buy one specifically for natives alternatively just put a good layer of good Quality mulch as they don’t like over fertilizing hope that helps cheers

Beautiful garden Suzanne nice tropical plants I wish we could grow fruit trees like that but our southern climate doesn’t allow us enjoy the serenity cheers
Thank you. People are amazed what's in our Garden and we live in Sydney. Our mangoes are better than anything we can buy.

Your garden looks amazing !
I use most of my food scraps ( no meat ) and it goes into my compost heap , also grass clippings and pruning from the garden plants . I get a lot of pumpkins growing from the compost , mainly butternut , they grow so quickly and I give them away to friends and neighbours , as there are too many , although I make many different dishes .Never heard of rice water to use in the garden . I use my own coffee grounds and use it very selective . Thank you Suzanne for all the info .
