Here's why you might be paying more at Woolworths with this online shopping app!

The convenience of grocery shopping online is hard to ignore. With the click of a button, your groceries can be delivered straight to your door—no need to worry about lugging around the supermarkets.

However, for shoppers who are using the online shopping app MILKRUN—powered by Woolworths Metro—you might be paying more than what’s listed on the shelf in-store.

One example is the special price of Comfort fabric conditioner, it was available on the app for $7.40, while the same bottle cost only $4.50 in-store—a difference of 64 per cent.

Customers would also pay 70 cents more if the discounted rate was not available on the app.

So why does this difference exist, and why does it seem like you’re paying more?

A MILKRUN spokesperson said that product prices take into account the ‘delivery service customer experience’ on the app. In other words, the convenience of having products delivered to them is being taken into consideration, much like UberEats.

'We provide our customers with the convenience of more than 10,000 products,' the spokesperson said.

They further explained that there are 'thousands of weekly specials' and 'exclusive MILKRUN deals' available on their app. However, it may not be reflective of the best possible prices at an actual Woolworths store.

Products on the Woolworths app are believed to be price-matched to those in-store with a delivery fee of up to $15 for customers. On the other hand, the MILKRUN app offers a flat fee of only $5 for delivery, and your order can be delivered within an hour.

This is a more convenient option, especially for time-poor customers or those with accessibility needs.

Members, if you’re an avid online shopper, then you may want to think twice before heading to the MILKRUN app. It’s important to compare the official Woolworths app and the MILKRUN app to make sure you’re not spending more than you need to.

Another on-demand grocery delivery option that delivers items from Woolworths straight to your door in an hour is Metro60.

This option allows customers to browse through hundreds of Woolworths categories and stock up on more than 10,000 grocery items and everyday essentials directly from Woolworths Metro stores. This includes fruit and vegetables, pantry staples, hot chickens, sushi, flowers, and pet food.

The order is then packed and delivered right to your door for a flat fee of just $5.

According to the website, you can enjoy free delivery on your first three orders using the app. This offer is valid until the end of this year, 31 December.

That’s fair. You pay the price for laziness. Unless you are disabled or have means of transport then get off your lazy backsides and go shopping.
If not stop complaining for the extra cost of being lazy!

People have the option of going to the store themselves!

As l see things, the convenience of ON LINE SHOPPING is that a shopper can go online, place an order, have someone pick & pack it for them while they themselves spend that time doing something less mundane, visits, paying accounts, other shopping..............
The option is always there to place an order & pick it up yourself thus avoiding a Delivery Fee!
