Hemsworth family celebrates twins’ birthday with controversial prank

Hollywood superstar Chris Hemsworth has caused quite a stir with his latest antics. You may know him as the hammer-wielding superhero Thor, but it seems he's also quite the adventure-seeking dad.

However, his latest adventure has landed him and his wife, Elsa Pataky, in some hot water with fans after they pulled a prank on their twin boys' birthday. And let's just say it involved a cake and a faceplant.

That's right; the A-list actor took to Instagram to share a snap of his wife pushing one of their little boys' heads into his birthday cake while Hemsworth can be seen grinning mischievously in the background.

Now, we all love a good birthday prank, but some fans are not impressed with the Hollywood couple's actions. Social media has been buzzing with comments about the questionable parenting move, with some calling it dangerous and others labelling it as plain old mean.

The comments section of Hemsworth's Instagram post was ablaze with debate as fans rushed to weigh in on the matter. One wrote, 'Why people smash their kid's face in the cake is beyond my understanding, but whatever.' While another exclaimed, 'It's so violent!'

However, not everyone was against the move, with some fans defending the couple's prank as good old-fashioned fun. 'Lighten up, people! It's just a harmless birthday prank,' wrote one fan. While another commented, 'I think it's hilarious! It's all in good fun.'

Others even admitted they had a similar tradition during their birthday celebrations.

It's not just fans on social media that have been divided on Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky's birthday prank - even the hosts of the popular morning show Today had something to say about it.

Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo couldn't believe the criticism directed at the Hollywood couple and were quick to defend their actions. Karl even burst out laughing at the photo, exclaiming that it was all in good fun and that the outrage on social media was ridiculous.

In an attempt to mock those who were against the prank, Karl put on an exaggerated voice and said, 'I think it sends out a bad message!' before adding, 'What a joke. It's a face on a cake. Now we can't play pin the tail on the donkey!'

Sarah Abo also chimed in, jokingly calling Hemsworth a terrible father. It seems that even the hosts of the popular morning show can't resist joining in on the fun of this viral birthday prank.

Although the Hemsworth family's cake smash was intended as harmless fun, it's important to consider the potential risks involved. Smashing someone's head into a cake could lead to choking if the person inhales any cake particles or if the cake fully covers their face.

Furthermore, if the cake has any hard or sharp decorative pieces, like candles or plastic toppers, there is a risk of eye injury. And if the cake smash is too forceful, there's a possibility of head and neck injuries like whiplash or concussion.

It's also important to keep in mind that while some people may find the cake prank funny, others may feel embarrassed or emotionally traumatised by the experience. Young children, in particular, may not fully understand the intent behind the prank and could feel upset or humiliated.

This news comes as Hemsworth revealed that he would be taking a break from acting due to his recent discovery of a genetic predisposition for Alzheimer's disease while filming his latest movie, Limitless.

In a candid interview with Vanity Fair in November, the actor shared his experience receiving and processing his test results. He acknowledged the difficulty of confronting one's mortality and accepting the possibility of developing a debilitating disease like Alzheimer's.

'Most of us, we like to avoid speaking about death,' he said. 'Then to all of a sudden be told some big indicators are actually pointing to this as the route which is going to happen, the reality of it sinks in. Your own mortality.'

So there you have it, members - the latest scoop on Chris Hemsworth's controversial cake-smashing prank. It seems like the internet is pretty divided on whether the stunt was funny or inappropriate.

What's your take on it? Do you think it was all just harmless fun and a way for the Hemsworth family to celebrate their twin boys' birthday? Or do you agree with those who see it as violent and potentially dangerous?

We'd love to hear your thoughts on this, so let us know in the comments below! As always, keep it friendly and respectful, and let's have a lively and engaging discussion.

It depends on the family. If I look at mine there are some that we would do this too and others we definitely wouldn't. Those we would are pranksters in themselves.

I would say their son was probably a prankster and I would say The Hemsworths would have made sure it was without candles ect.

Choking and suffercation would only happen in you held the person's face into it.

I think it's not something you do to just anyone, and you have age limits eg no younger than 8 and no older than maybe 40

We need more harmless fun in life otherwise we will become sour cows

It's sad that some people have to find fault in things that should be taken the way they are meant. It's not violent. It's not dangerous. It's not harmful. It's just a very funny prank. People have been doing it for a long time. Seems like some people need to grow a sense of humour and stop finding faults when they aren't there.

Grow up people, both Hemsworth's are great parents. This kind of thing has been happening for years'. Wedding's Cake Smashers started it, are they bad people or partners. I would only be worried if they did this hard enough to break or damage something on the kid. And anyway, if you don't like this sort of prank/giggle then don't do it. Once again, people grow up and get a life or better yet make sure you whinge and complain about truely harmful nasty things like sex offenders who get short jail time or paroled early for good behaviour.

Something we do in my family. Harmless fun. My granddaughter made two small cakes for her twins first birthday and they smashed their own faces. She or their dad would not have done it to them at that age but one picked his up and straight in his face,he laughed and his brother copied him. They were hilarious.

Seriously, I can think of worse things to comment on, they are having fun, ffs!! Did the cake have knives, sparklers, etc., sticking out of it??? Give the guy and his family a break, they were having a bit of harmless fun!!! Why do people always have to see the negative, in everything!!

Well, I'm obviously in the minority here, but I think it's a bloody stupid idea! On a par with laughing at somebody slipping on a banana skin - or that latest weird fad, forcefully scrubbing wedding cake into the face of the bride. What genius 'influencer' thought up these puerile 'pranks'? Remember, it only has to go wrong once!

Think it is a bit of harmless fun and I’m sure the cake wouldn’t have had anything that would have harmed the child. Honestly people get a life.

first any parent would make sure there was nothing that would cause their child harm.
second the child was being pushed with little force not smashed into the cake,
and third if not first if I was the child I would be eating as much of the cake as I could.
