Hi, I'm a big fan of fantasy stories. A couple of my favourite authors are: Terry Pratchett and Charles de Lint. Here are a couple of things I've done in the las t year or so. Okay, I just tried to add a couple of photos but got the message that the uploaded files are too large to process. Oops!Welcome, @Catlady. I'm not so much of a fantasy reader myself. I've read the famous ones like The Lord of the Rings though. I really like thrillers and mysteriesHi, I'm a big fan of fantasy stories. I think Lord of the Rings was one of my first fantasy novels and really set me down that path. I was in my late teens (or early twenties) when I first read it - from 3 large hard cover books loaned to me by a friend. I suppose I also like mysteries and thrillers; my favourite authors there being Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I remember the first time I read The Shining. I could only read it in dribs and drabs because I have an active imagination and some of the scenes were very scaryI'm not so much of a fantasy reader myself. That's actually why I find it difficult to fit reading into my schedule because once I start I cant stop! haha.
It's a shame we couldn't see your pictures. We'll really have to look into getting that sorted.
It's a fantastic genre. Have you read the Game of Thrones books? A Song of Ice and Fire...I think Lord of the Rings was one of my first fantasy novels and really set me down that path. I read the first book, but really didn't like it. I'm not into stories with political intrigue and I didn't like the author's train of thought. I felt that he had a really sick imagination. It's a fantastic genre. Have you read the Game of Thrones books? A Song of Ice and Fire...
Hiya Catlady, my name is Chris & I am not overly mobile myself (bone problems) & I am looking at starting into some craft work myself this Summer.Hi, I'm Catlady and I'm new here. I'm not very mobile but I'm a bit of a crafty lady who also likes reading.
Ah I did enjoy it. You're right about the sick imagination though!!I read the first book, but really didn't like it. I'm not into stories with political intrigue and I didn't like the author's train of thought. I felt that he had a really sick imagination.
Hi Chris, My favourite genre is fantasy but don't mind any book so long as it's written in a style that doesn't bore me; although I must admit that I don't at all enjoy reading books with a lot of political intrigue. I'm a pretty straightforward person and have very little time for manipulative behaviour or people so not interested in reading about that either. I have times when I'll spend hours reading, but then other times, I may go several weeks without picking up a book because I'm busy doing something else (lately, mainly crocheting).Hiya Catlady, my name is Chris & I am not overly mobile myself (bone problems) & I am looking at starting into some craft work myself this Summer.
I LOVE reading !!!! What genre of books are you keen on? or are your tastes wide & varied? It is easier for me to tell you what I am not so keen on - okay that didn't work, because every time I typed in a genre I remembered a book (or more) that I read in that genre & thoroughly enjoyed. I just love books, Fiction & Non Fiction. If it is an interesting subject, written well, then I am in. As a dear friend once told me - "Life is too short to waste on a bad book".
