It's crucial to make sure your grandkids are wearing the appropriate swimwear and safety gear whether at the beach, swimming in a lake, or taking a dip in the pool.
While children may be eager to simply jump in and start swimming, it's important to take the time to make sure they're properly outfitted and they are using safe aquatic toys.
So, for all the grandparents out there, we want to share with you this urgent announcement made by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on the recall of the Decathlon Snorkelling Inflatable Wand Float.
The product in question was immediately pulled from the shelves after it was discovered that it could raise the danger of drowning.
Apparently, the item was not able to meet the standards of the 'Consumer Goods (Aquatic Toys) Safety Standard 2020', resulting in the increased risk of drowning.

The announcement read: 'Users may not be aware of important safety information about the use of the product.' The ACCC raised concerns that the misuse of the toy (due to inadequate instructions) posed a danger to children.
Consumers who have purchased the product are encouraged to 'immediately stop' using the item and return it to the store for a refund.
The recall applies to all items sold between March 2020 and August 2022.
The product has been sold nationwide online and was also retailed in-store in NSW in Tempe, Auburn, and Miranda; and in Victoria at Box Hill, Moorabbin, Knoxfield, and South Morang.
