Government hearing aids too big for small ears

The new hearing aids provided for the aged are too big for some adults. When mine kept falling out and I requested the size I was using, I was informed that the Government no longer provides the smaller ones. They only provide the bigger ones. If technology is improving, why are we going bigger and not smaller. Losing them nearly every time they fall out is annoying, along with not having room for my glasses frame and the aid at the same time.
I no longer wear my hearing aids as they are more of an inconvenience than convenient.

Have just ordered hearing aids online for 1/12th of the cost what Audika is charging.
From $4000+ to $300
I have a bit of tinnitus (a continual ringing tone) in my right ear and after having tried out a pair, it sharpened my hearing and reduced the tinnitus ringing.
Just saying. Pays to shop around.

GO TO AUSTRALIAN HEARING. I've been with them for over 27 years. Beautiful people who know what they are doing and your new hearing aids WILL fit and if you are are eligible THEY ARE FREE.. This year I paid $50.80 for whatever happens this year, batteries, repairs and replacements. I've only ever paid what they asked for even when I lost one of my very first ones down a toilet when I was sick and in a highway loo.

Although my hearing aids are correctly fitted, during COVID, I found when I took the mask off, my hearing aid would fall off. Resolution - I had molds attached to the hearing aids and this prevented them falling out. I have been wearing hearing aids for the past 30 years. Please give it a try and see if this helps.

firstly I can't wear masks (I do carry a doc's letter) and I've only ever lost one aid since 1996 but thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately I only have one ear that works now so I have to watch what I do with it. My poor ear cops it with glasses, hearing aid and a headband. 😻

Try BLOOM Hearing. They are good with their service and help in all ways to fit hearing aids.

It does! And improved my hearing too. Australian Hearing is my go to, and the replacement aids cost much the same with better amplification due to advances in design.
