Two Australian photographers have just been named winners in the prestigious 2025 World Ocean Photographer of the Year awards.

Marcia Riederer’s breathtaking photo of a Dwarf Minke whale in the Great Barrier Reef earned her first place in the Fine Art category.

Meanwhile, Craig Parry captured a moving drone image of a whale rescue attempt off the NSW south coast, winning the Human Connection category. Though the whale sadly couldn’t be saved, his photo highlighted the compassion of the rescuers who worked tirelessly.

Of 15,000 submissions worldwide, 13 Australians made the finalists list — a record achievement.

Well, that's what it is , a "Still" photograph.
I've never seen a "Moving" photograph.
Has anyone else seen a moving photograph ?

Over the head it went.....

That was another terrific round up of uplifting stories. Very hard to pick a favourite but I’m really not sure about cats and dogs on flights, would a cat or dog really be happy in a carrier thing for a few hours or would they howl and carry on a bit? Could make for an annoying journey, especially if there are a lot of small children on board as well.

If we clarify what can be called a photography then MAYBE a couple of photographs manipulated can move ... I have seen (Photos?) that if you move them from side to side a person can appear to be walking OR tilt them from top to bottom they can raise and lower arms.. I have seen a photograph that appears as though the subject is moving their eyes and following you as you walk past them. I have also seen a photo with a ripple type suface over it and it will change colour depending on where you are standing in the room. Don't ask me how they do these things because the truth is I DON'T KNOW.
I know what you people are talking about and you are right... I only thought of this and I woke in the night to type it here.
