Genesis Motors Australia recalls over 700 cars for one manufacturing defect

Cars have been a necessity for people who need to travel safely and comfortably.

Whether it’s for running errands or visiting long-distance family members, cars make sure that you reach your destination.

Yet, a recent recall shook several drivers, as it could affect their way of living.

Genesis Motors Australia—the luxury division of the South Korean vehicle manufacturer Hyundai—issued an urgent recall for three of their popular car models.

The affected models included the Genesis GV70, G80, and GV80, and were made between 2021 to 2022.

A total of 787 Genesis vehicles are at risk due to a critical manufacturing defect.

‘Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel pump impeller may become deformed under certain environmental conditions, interrupting the fuel supply,’ Genesis Motors Australia wrote in a recall notice.

‘If this occurs, the engine could stall resulting in a sudden loss of motive power.’

This defect could significantly increase the risk of accidents, leading to injury or death on the road.

The recall is a precautionary measure to prevent such incidents, and to ensure the safety of Genesis drivers and the public.

Genesis Motors Australia started addressing the situation by reaching out to affected vehicle owners.

If you own one of the mentioned models, Genesis Motors Australia should contact you soon regarding an appointment at your nearest dealership.

The fuel pump impeller will be inspected during the appointment and, if necessary, replaced at no cost.

For those who may have further concerns, Genesis car owners can reach out to the customer service team through their hotline, 1800 908 070.

You may go through the official recall notice and the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list here.

Owners of the recalled Genesis models should take immediate action.

Not only is this crucial for safety, but it also ensures the continued performance and reliability of your vehicle.

The recall serves as a reminder that even the most prestigious and well-engineered vehicles could encounter unforeseen issues.

It's important to be safe, especially when it comes to the vehicles we rely on for daily transportation.
