General Discussion Thread - 26.09.2025 PM

Hi, friends! 💛 It’s me again, back for another cap-off to this week—and I have to say, I’ve really missed these little Friday check-ins with you. I'm so glad I can do it again! :)

This morning, I caught the scent of toasted bread and butter, and it instantly transported me to my childhood kitchen. I was suddenly five years old again... still in pajamas, feet dangling off the edge of a chair, waiting patiently for breakfast while the sunlight crept through the window. I used to spend my mornings chatting away with my nan, and sometimes my mum would scold me for almost talking her ear off. Sometimes, I miss the simple moments like those. Isn’t it funny how certain moments, even the smallest ones, can linger with us for years?

Anyway, that familiar scent didn’t just bring me back, but it also nudged me forward. It reminded me of how far I’ve come since those sleepy mornings, and how much growing—quiet, steady growing—can happen without us even realising. And in a world where everything feels like it’s moving so fast, it felt good to just pause and feel grounded in the present.

All that got me thinking…What’s something you’re genuinely looking forward to right now?

As for me, I'm looking forward to going on a roadtrip with my university friends in October! We're planning to go to a photography studio to have some of our photos done to commemorate the years we've shared together. It's been a wild ride with them, and I can't wait to see what happens on our journey. 😍

It doesn’t have to be big! It could be a slow weekend, a new show, a call with someone you love, or even just the promise of a good meal. Whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it. Let’s remind each other that having something to look forward to, no matter how small, is worth celebrating.

I’m looking forward to seeing MJ the musical in Melbourne a week tomorrow and also my Great niece’s 21st Birthday Party on the same day. Dancing all afternoon and through to midnight. It’s going to be a big weekend

A swim down the beach.
Went down to a beautiful beach today planning on a swim in the surf. After checking out the conditions didn't venture in way too rough with very soft sand on a high tide was sinking down to just below the knee. Also no flags.

There's nothing that I'm looking forward to 😔 apart from bedtime.
My adult children don't tolerate my depression and anxiety anymore and live miles away. I have one 17 year old granddaughter who loves me and is in constant touch. So I guess I can say I am looking forward to her next text or phonecall even though she's a busy little woman.

You sound very energetic

I lost touch with all those friends. They went up up up and I'm on disability pension. I'm rather envious I have to say.
