Just like to raise the issue of sub titles on TV programs for people with hearing difficulties. I find it hard that it's not mandatory. I spend my evening switching channels to find something that I can follow the dialogue. Usually have to watch something I've already seen many times or put up with something I can only hear about 10%.
Advertisers should realise that a % of people with hearing problems don't watch their adds as they have switched the station looking for sub titled programs.
Got no where trying to talk to my local Federal politician.

Not really a complaint, but then I guess it is 😀😀
why when I come to open SDC each morning/afternoon, the first headline on the subject line is of someone’s passing?? I would prefer a happier subject first, then put the passing a bit further on, especially as you don’t say who it is.
I’m old too, and as sorry as I am to know of their passing, although not knowing who until further down the page, it’s not really the first thing I want to read In a morning.

ok that’s all …. Have a good day everyone

@PearcePeter467 what brand and model television do you have? Get back to me and I will research it on how to activate subtitles and I will get back to you here.

AFTERTHOUGHT: Televisions will keep the subtitle function active regardless of the channel. However, some advertisements block this function for reasons unknown.

Modern remote controls have a subtitle button you can use for any regular tv program.
