Finally! This popular $3.99 ALDI Christmas buy is back
- Replies 7
Christmas is just around the corner, and you all know what that means – time to start buying gifts! If you're like most people, you've probably already started making a list (and checking it twice) of all the things you need to buy for your loved ones.
Speaking of which, ALDI is making our holiday preparations a little bit easier (and cheaper!) this year with the return of its hugely popular jumbo gift wrap rolls.
For just $3.99, shoppers can pick up a jumbo roll of Christmas wrapping paper at ALDI’s starting this month. The wrapping paper comes in a variety of festive designs and is 20 metres long, so you'll have plenty to work with. That's just 20c per metre!
Plus, it's thick and high-quality enough that it doesn't look or feel cheap – despite its very affordable price tag.
No one will ever guess how much (or rather how little) you paid!
The best part is that the holiday wrapping paper will be back in stores by this week – and with even more designs than last year!
An ALDI spokesperson shared: ‘After months of planning, we are incredibly excited to bring back the Christmas wrapping paper and Special Buy ranges to our shelves and middle aisle in the lead-up to Christmas.’
Shoppers are keen to get their hands on the popular product. One person said: ‘$3.99 for 20m of Christmas wrapping paper! That’s what I’m talking about ALDI!’
‘How good are the Aldi jumbo rolls of wrapping paper? Thicker than I was expecting for the price,’ said one parent on social media.
While another agreed and said: ‘Normally big rolls like that are so thin and flimsy.’
Aside from being big enough to wrap almost any gift, one woman on social media even showed how she wrapped a whole room in her house with leftover wrapping paper to give it a more ‘Christmas-y feel’.
‘Hey all, just wondering if anyone has seen any of the 20m Christmas wrapping paper on the shelves yet? I wrapped a room last Christmas and the big rolls were very handy. Hopefully, they are an every-Christmas item,’ she said in her post.
You can check in ALDI stores near you if the 20-metre wrapping paper is already available, or you can check out ALDI’s Special Buys catalogue here for announcements.
Though, not everyone loves the waste created by all the wrapping paper in bins come Boxing Day. In fact, Australia alone uses more than 150,000km of wrapping paper over Christmas, that’s enough paper to wrap the earth nearly four times!
Looking for an alternative? Besides the classic gift bag which can be used year after year, here are some other options.

Key Takeaways
- ALDI’s hugely popular jumbo Christmas wrap will be available in stores this week.
- The wrapping paper, which comes in a variety of designs, is a whopping 20 metres long and only costs $3.99.
- Shoppers are super excited about the product coming back in stock.
- Shoppers love the gift wrap because even though it's affordable, it doesn't look or feel cheap.
Looking for an alternative? Besides the classic gift bag which can be used year after year, here are some other options.
- Brown paper
You can add stamps, drawings and beautiful ribbon (which can be reused) to dress this up for the holidays. The best part? It’s cheap and the paper is compostable!
- Christmas fabric
Christmas-themed fabric is fairly cheap at Spotlight and Lincraft stores. Simply cut to size and wrap as you would with paper. Add a ribbon and you have beautifully wrapped gifts minus the waste. Fold them up and bring them out again for next year.
- Old magazines or newspapers
Are you not too fussed about the appearance of the gifts under the tree and would rather find an eco-friendly alternative and still get the satisfaction of ripping the paper off a gift? Why not use old magazines or newspapers and give new life to something you were going to throw out anyway?
