Family feuds and final wishes: she’s DEAD serious about drawing the line

AIBU, which stands for 'Am I Being Unreasonable', is the perfect platform for sharing your thoughts and opinions! So, for today's AIBU discussion, we have this story from Reddit/AcanthaceaeJust2993.

'AITA if I (70F) decide while having my will created to leave all my money and assets to three charities instead of my family[?]'

'I have a retirement savings plan and two homes along with jewelry and cars.'

'I have loaned money over the years to my brother, sister and niece and they never pay it back and they never feel guilty about it.'

'You can ask until you are blue in the face[.] [O]f course[,] they promise to pay it back or make payments but I still never see it.'

'I don’t have children and I think they are expecting to be benefiting from my demise.'

Spend it while one can. I intend to.
Read what was said...SHE HAS NO CHILDREN.. It is her brother and his family that have borrowed from her and repaid nothing even when they promise to pay back. Family provision have nothing to force payment to unless they consider siblings.
I spoke to a solicitor explaining that my wife had left me for a yankee lover and took the kids .. One had left school with a good job etc.. I havent heard from them for 25 years now even though I have sent them Birthday cards, Christmas gifts for the known grandkids which I don't think they ever got the gifts because they have been told that I am dead.
the solicitor help make the will and has left my kids $1,000 each as their share of my will being a first and final amount bequested to them. That was 20 yrs ago so I believe they will have no further rights to any claims. I think I can now leave the money to who I please. Talk to a solicitor about it but be sure you can trust the solicitor ...BTW you are definitely being reasonable.
