Just wanted to see if any other members keep getting text messages where it says someone has called, when they haven't? There are always spelling errors in the text message too, so it is an obvious scam. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Yeah I think I've heard of this one... Is there a number they try to get you to call? A family member was telling me about one that leaves a fake missed call and when you ring back it's to a premium number that charges you $10 / minute.
Another scam email arrived today claiming to be from “Navy Federal” saying my “account” is to be closed. It says to click on an internet address if this is an “error”. Checking the sender’s address, it is from “timhunter@unwiredb”. This email is another attempt by scammers to get into your banking details. If you see this email or anything else that you do not recognize, asking you to click on an internet address, delete it immediately. Be aware of scammers trying to steal from you. They are no different to thieves who break into your home. They are just using more sophisticated methods. Be glad you can protect yourself by using your delete key!
