Fact of the Day: Why are hyperlinks blue?
While going through the internet—or even through an SDC newsletter—you’ll notice that clickable rows of text are coloured blue…
But is there a reason why all links have that distinct, blue colour?
Hyperlinks are blue because in the early days of the internet, web browsers used blue as a default colour.
Blue was chosen for the way it stood out against the grey backgrounds of early computer screens.
To this day, blue is still the most reader-friendly hyperlink colour in use today.
