Volleyball is one of the most popular sports of all time.

Invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan, it went by another name before becoming the sport we love today. What was its original name?

Volleyball was initially called ‘Mintonette’. However, the name was changed to volleyball to reflect the sport’s primary action: volleying the ball back and forth.
