Fact of the Day: The first man to walk around the world
When we think of travel, we think of aeroplanes, cruises, and long commutes... but for this British man, travelling meant traversing the world on foot!
Karl Bushby has set out on a journey to walk around the world without any form of transport.
Bushby, an ex-paratrooper, started his journey back in 1998 in Chile.
After walking across multiple countries, swam through the Caspian Sea’s 300-kilometre stretch, to even encountering polar bears, he is on the tail-end of his 27-year journey.
He only has 3219 kilometres left before arriving at his home city at Hull.
