For some, Prince Harry’s latest project is one of a highly-anticipated series–and its trailer has just been released!

The five-episode series titled Heart of Invictus is being released through the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s production company, Archewell Productions. It focuses on the inspiring stories of the Invictus Games–the international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick veterans and members of the armed services co-founded by Prince Harry.

The series, to be released on Netflix on August 30, provides an inspiring behind-the-scenes look at the athletes' journey to the Invictus Games and what goes on behind the scenes in the tournament.

In the first teaser released, Harry speaks to the participants, telling them: 'It is here at the Invictus Games that you realise that whatever you carry, it is the springboard to the next level.'

Harry also serves as an executive producer of the series and says he is 'incredibly proud' of what the participants have achieved.

'Our Invictus Games community represents some of the bravest and most dedicated individuals from 23 nations across the globe,' he said in a statement.

'Heart of Invictus is the incredible story of competitors brought together through service, who are now united through sport.'

He added: 'While in various stages of recovery from both visible and invisible injuries, these competitors and their loved ones give a compelling look at their journey to the Invictus Games, in a way that commands admiration and respect.'

The series was directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, winner of the Oscar for Best Documentary Short in 2017 for The White Helmets.

In a few weeks, Harry and Meghan will be heading to Europe for the next Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, from September 9 until the 16th.

The History and Mission of the Invictus Games

Established by Prince Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games have grown into an international phenomenon that stemmed from his heartening experience when he attended the US Warrior Games in 2013.

Inspired by the incredible resilience and strength he witnessed, Harry decided to create a version on a global scale, and thus the birth of the Invictus Games.

Invictus, a Latin word meaning ‘unconquered’, encapsulates the spirit of these games and the individuals who participate. The event aims to harness the power of sport to help speed physical, psychological, and social recovery for service people, providing a platform where their tenacity and courage shine brightly.

Over the years, these games have drawn in thousands of competitors from around 20 nations–all military veterans who have suffered life-changing injuries, whether visible or hidden.

The inaugural Invictus Games held in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in 2014 saw over 400 competitors from 13 nations competing in nine different adaptive sports. It was a resounding success and paved the way for subsequent Games in cities like Orlando, Toronto, Sydney, and The Hague–each event growing in size and impact.

The heart and soul of the Invictus Games is its strong sense of community. It’s more than just an event–it is a movement of gratitude and respect for those who have stood their ground in the face of adversity and proved their invincible spirit.

This project is all what the uneducated unhinged harry minus HRH has left. Hopefully he will get it right for the sake of the veterans unless that wife of his sticks her nose in it in an unsavory manner (as usual).

I probably will watch the documentary……I think it takes a lot of courage and effort for the participants to enter into this competition and I think their journeyed experience will be amazing to watch………..In my opinion Harry is just not even a likeable person anymore and totally untrustworthy and it will be so sad if these veterans have to suffer in any way because of that……….So yes I’ll watch it for the awesome men and women who will be proudly participating in the Games.

Even if you do not rate Harry then get over yourselves and support the brave souls who strive valiantly to live their lives under great duress. My husband served in the British army for 25 years and i was fortunate enough to be with him for 15 of those years. I have witnessed and been involved personally with acts of terrorism due to IRA bombings, and my husband served in several actions overseas as well as cleaning up after hurricanes where many people lost their lives and bodies had to be found days later. Not for the faint hearted. I have an Australian friend who due to overseas service acquired acute PTSD and has battled harder than most people can imagine to walk the road to stability and some form of normalcy, she is now studying not only for a Masters, but at the same time an MBA. She doesn’t do things by half. I live in an RSL village and each day I witness retired service personnel struggle to get through their day. Civilians have such a limited understanding of the military. My first job was as a psychiatric nurse way back at the beginning of the 1960‘s and I was nursing men who had served in the First World War and were still very unable to function in society then, the other critically sick group I nursed were Second World War veterans . I nursed men and women who had been imprisoned by the Germans, Italians and the Japanese, need I say more. There were also civilians who had been in labour camps in Russia, Poland etc not to mention the terrible extermination camps. So I’ve seen pretty much the whole gamut of human struggle over my lifetime and I urge all of you to put your biases aside and look at this upcoming program which will pay tribute to the men and woman who serve their counties not from personal ego but for the whole population. I wish that the Invictus games could expand to include other first responders such as our Ambos, police, firefighters, SES, paramedics etc. and don’t forget our medical staff who witness extreme trauma every working day from acts of violence and road accidents to bush fires, floods, or other horrendous scenes. This is why suicide rates are so high in these jobs. Harry is a man who has known personal trauma for much of his life. Why do you think he is now struggling. If you carried his burdens would you have been able to serve his fellow veterans or set up charities in other areas. Stop feeding the gossip mongering about his family and concentrate on his many, many amazing acts of real compassion and charity.

Well said Judith1946 and you speak from obvious experience. People need to see the entire picture and try to understand what these poor folk have been through and struggle through every day. I take my hat off to them, as a civilian I will NEVER understand what they have gone through, nor try to cope with everyday life having suffered permanent disability because of War. I congratulate every person taking part and commend Harry for giving so many a reason to live and improve their life.

I will watch it. I have friends with sons in our Air Force, Army and a Navy clearance diver.
My father in law was in the Army. At one stage, my husband lived in Malaysia as a child, due to his father being posted there.
His father was also a Paratrooper with the Korean War.
I must say, it takes a specific type of person to want to sign up for the Defence Force, as well as completing psychology tests when applying.
