Ingredients:

450 g boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small cubes
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 cup (120 ml) orange juice
1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
1 tbsp. honey
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 cup green onions, finely chopped

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken cubes and cornstarch, making sure the chicken is evenly coated.

2. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Deep fry the chicken for about 5 minutes or until the color turns golden brown. Set aside

3. To make your orange juice, add the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger into a small pot and cook over medium-high heat. Add cornstarch and water and cook until thickened.

4. Toss fried chicken with the sweet orange sauce. Top with green onions.

5. Serve with rice and steamed vegetables.

Enjoy!

By the way, did you know that although Orange Chicken is called 'Chinese food' in Australia, orange chicken is rarely found in Chinese restaurants in China. Journalist Jennifer 8. Lee says that both "General Tso's chicken and Orange Chicken are Americanized mutations of sweet and sour dishes found in China", though the dish may have originally come from the "tangerine chicken" dish from Hunan province, China.
