This is such an easy cake to whip up . It's so moist and taste a cross between a cheese cake and flan.

Recipe by The Modern Nona
PREP TIME:5 minutes
COOK TIME:50 minutes
TOTAL TIME:55 minutes

Serves 8

INGREDIENTS
  • 1.5 cups yogurt (plain or vanilla) , (315 grams)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract , optional
  • 5 tablespoons cornflour , (55 grams)
Note: This cake can be made with vanilla yogurt or any flavored yogurt like coconut. The cake will turn out sweeter if the yogurt is flavored. You can also add 1/4 cup of sugar to the plain yogurt if you don't want a lower-sugar option.

METHOD
  • Preheat the oven to 175°C / 155°C fan-forced
  • In a bowl, add the yogurt and eggs. Whisk well.
  • Add the pure vanilla extract and cornflour Whisk again until the batter is completely smooth.
  • Pour it into a lined loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool and top with fresh berries, maple syrup, or honey! The choice is yours or just have it plain
  • Enjoy.
Ps If you use flavoured yoghurt eg coconut or vanilla you can leave out the vanilla extract which states optional.

Also fruit ect are all optional .

The basic 3 ingredient of vanilla yoghurt, eggs and cornflour also is perfect as is

This is not a 3 Ingredient recipe
even the recipe shows 4 different items
  • 1.5 cups yogurt (plain or vanilla), (315 grams)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, optional
  • 5 tablespoons cornflour, (55 grams)
and then if you want a topping of fruit / cream / or icing sugar, it could end up being 7 ingredients.

Please get you heading correct.

No need to be picky about the number of ingredients - most of the other ingredients in recipes we would have at home anyhow. When a recipe mentions only ‘x’ number of ingredients it is usually referring to what you need to actually buy because the rest are items most, if not all, households have at home anyhow. Sugar, salt, essence etc are kitchen staples and do not require a special purchase trip. Besides you might note the recipe actually states vanilla extract is ‘optional’, leaving 3 ingredients, and Suzanne rose’s recipe given here states in her last line, quote “The basic 3 ingredient of vanilla yoghurt, eggs and cornflour also is perfect as is” , so YOU need to correct your own comment on this recipe.

The supposed 4th ingredient @NotNats, is in fact an optional extra, not a necessary requirement for the cake. Thank you for the recipe @Suzanne rose.

Are you forgetting it was you who made the Very first comment and everyone just replied to yours.

If you make a bad comment be expecting criticism in return .

your laughing emoji at people's comments are also rude.

Alot of people on here are old and dying so let's make the most on here rather than criticising be more positive
