DoorDash delivery worker FIRED for unthinkable act on customer's order!

Hungry for something quick and easy?

With a few taps on our smartphones, we have access to a whole smorgasbord of mouthwatering meals to be delivered right to our doorsteps!

The convenience of food delivery apps like DoorDash has us reaching more and more for our phones and less and less for pots and pans.

But for all their convenience and ease, these food delivery services aren’t without their flaws.

A shocking report from the US revealed how a mum and her young son had a particularly nasty experience with their DoorDash delivery worker.

The duo had placed an order worth $33 USD ($51 AUD)—$30 USD ($46.40 AUD) for the order and a $3 USD ($4.60 AUD) tip—but were left retching when they discovered what the delivery man had done to their meal.

The drama unfolded at an apartment complex on a Saturday afternoon equipped with a doorbell camera, which captured the appalling behaviour of the DoorDash worker.

The driver was seen setting the bagged food on the apartment's entrance and shot a photo for proof of delivery on the app.

But then, in a rather gruesome twist, the footage showed the worker spitting on the bag of food (three times!), all while muttering something indecipherable.

Thirteen-year-old Elias Crisanto and his mum could hardly believe their eyes.

'I wanted to throw up,' the teen said. 'It's so disgusting. I mean, who does that?'

The pair speculated that the driver might have been upset by the $3 ($4.60 AUD) tip they had added to their approximate $30 (AUD $46.40) order.

Elias immediately reported the incident to DoorDash and requested a refund. But, initially, his request was denied.

It was only after he managed to speak to a customer service representative and relay the entire incident that DoorDash started taking some action.

In an email to the lad, the company firmly stated that it does not tolerate such behaviour.

'We do not condone this type of action and have therefore taken the step [of] removing them from our platform,' DoorDash said.

'This Dasher will no longer be able to deliver future orders on DoorDash. Results of all internal investigations are kept private.'

This isn’t the first case of delivery drivers pulling off nasty acts. In another incident, a driver was seen allegedly trying to dump the items on the side of the road.

After being caught on camera and confronted by a passerby, the delivery driver was then seen putting the items back quickly into the car, apologising, and then driving off—unfortunately for the mum whose $100 worth of groceries from Woolies he was transporting.
