Whenever I see an explosive hint "FREE" but you need to BUY to get something FREE, immediately I say to myself, "What's the catch" & my brain goes into top gear. You can bet your bottom dollar that one in a hundred tricks of the trades that eventually YOU are the loser. They are way ahead of you. I am a coffee drinker from way back & I would not touch it with a 40 foot pole. To start with, is it only for BLACK coffee? Not for me. I'll stick with my Nescafe tubes which are often on special which the little packet can be halved if you sometimes need a weak cup. I also have a percolator "if my guests wish something more a bit fancy, BUT
they don't pay my bills . I love the friends who used to say',' What are you having.?" They always followed suit. Easy peasy.
You'd be surprised these days the ones who USE you & tell you their preferences. My instinct tells me they aren't coming to see ME. I am used for a cuppa when there's no reciprocal rights in sight. I am never unkind though. I just go with the flow. What else can one do? Turn the other cheek of course. The grocery whinge I call it in gest. "I found myself so near you that I thought I'd have a quick coffee with you." !!!! and not, "Have you 5 minutes for a coffee Es??" It is the implication they put on things now. Add to the fact that I no longer drive so they KNOW I am nearly always home....and do you know what? I WOULD miss them if they never came, even though I KNOW it's the drink they prefer when I am deaf, blind in one eye, my feet don't work & I get frustrated not hearing & supposed to have the BEST aids. So, THEY must be frustrated with ME because coffee revives you.....see????? There's always two sides. ha ha ha ha!

No , no other pods work in these machines unfortunately which limits your choice drastically

Yes that's right the pods are expensive. I did have one of these machines once but found that the one I got afterwards (just one from Aldi) makes great coffee and there's a good range of capsules that aren't very expensive.
