Do you have any tips for caring for a rescued animal?

Hello, members! :D I (Seia) hope this week has been fruitful and kind to you.

I’m taking care of a cat we rescued, and I’ve fallen in love with her already! We saw her crying for help in our backyard a few months ago, begging for shelter and food. She was still a kitten when we rescued her, and now she's all grown up!

We decided to name her 'Mimaw' because I meow every time I talk to her. 😂 Isn't she the cutest?

First thing you need to do with a female cat other than love is to get her desexed otherwise you will have ittens to look after as well, keep them inside of a night so they do not go fiting with other cats and be prepared for them to give you as much love as you give them, or if there is any signs of them being ferral then go slowly until she feels safe.

We adopted our girl Zoe 8 weeks ago. She was extremely timid especially as we have other animals too. We made sure she has a safe place to retreat to at all times. Approaching her gently and letting her dictate what she wants to happen. She has been coming out of her shell making progress every day but it’s at her pace. We have another cat and she has bonded with him really well. She’s a dear little girl and we are so happy she’s part of our family! ❤️

We got our rescue dog a little Cavalier King Charles spaniel last year he was 8 years old. When we got him vet checked they found he had an ear infection, when we got that cleared up they said both his ear drums had collapsed due to some earlier trauma. He had surgery but they were unable to get his hearing back, We had to learn to deal with a deaf dog, so now it's all hand signals and facial expressions. To compensate he watches you all the time, he needs to see you rather than hear you. He is my husbands shadow. He is such a happy little boy now despite all his past. My daughter is a volunteer with Pug S.O.S. and has 2 rescues, my son has a rescue puppy as does my granddaughter. Rescue animals all need love, we don't know their past but we can make the rest of their lives happy, safe and comfortable.
