Do you have an item that holds deep sentimental value?

Good morning, members!

As we wrap up another week, I’ve been thinking a lot about the little things that are special to us. For me, it’s a watch my father gave me years ago. It’s not expensive, but the sentimental value makes it priceless, especially since he passed away. I always wear this every day so that I know he's with me

I have a broach of two Bluebirds joined by a silver chain that my Dad gave me ... it is still in original case with my Dad's writing wishing me a Happy Birthday dated 1959 (I was seven years old). As he passed away, way too young, I have treasured this....my daughter had it attached to her wedding bouquet. A loved memory of my wonderful Father.

I have a copy of the smallest English Dictionary in the world , printed in 1892 . It's one of only 5 or 6 known to exist and I think it's the only one printed in Australia . It measures 27 x 15 x 12 mm.

I was gifted with a
small, gold, quartz bedside clock by an 'adopted' uncle for my 21st.
I am now 76.Has never stopped, daily alarm etc...until a very strong wind blew into my bedroom, curtains everywhere ...and so many pretty treasures crashed to the floor .My clock is now a decoration on the buffet .Kate

My dad bought back 2 watches from Japan when I was 16. (I am now 68) 1 being a Seiko and the other an Omega. The Seiko was gold and the Omega was silver. I am allergic to yellow gold so I took the Omega watch. It still works. (I have had it serviced a few times) I even took it back to it's place of birth (manufacture) when we went to Japan last year. I think my daughter still has the Seiko watch as mum got that one.

I have a cardigan that my mother knitted for herself when she moved to a cooler area around forty years ago. After she left the planet nineteen years ago I brought it home and have worn it every winter since. It is pure wool and very warm, but is now getting very threadbare with darned patches all over it, and the colour, once 'winter white' now a dingy grey. I only wear it in the house, and I think that the connection keeps me as warm as the wool does.
