Did you know McDonald's is giving away FREE Big Mac meals? Learn how to claim yours!

From stores selling items at discounted prices to restaurants offering meals at half price – everyone loves a good bargain.

And recently, McDonald's has introduced an exciting offer for Aussies who love taking advantage of the discounts and freebies being offered.

Macca’s fans – especially those who enjoy the classic Big Mac meal – it’s time to rejoice! The fast food giant is giving away free medium Big Mac meals for customers across the country.

This announcement comes after the nationwide launch of McDelivery via MyMacca’s app, where customers can place delivery orders and earn and redeem points in the process. Customers can also access exclusive deals and discounts all in one place.

McDonald’s launched the delivery service via the mobile app in March 2023.

A spokesperson at the time said that the McDelivery service is a part of the fast food chain’s ‘ongoing commitment’ to providing greater value, convenience, and rewards to its customers.

There is a catch to the offer, however: You’d need to spend more than $30 on the MyMacca’s app and select McDelivery. Then, you’ll be able to add a bonus medium Big Mac meal to your order in the Offers section of the app.

The best way around this? Order together with friends to meet the $30 minimum.

The offer is available starting this week, April 5, until May 2.

A statement from the fast food chain read: ‘Following the nationwide launch of McDelivery via the MyMacca’s app, Macca’s is dropping its latest deal for new delivery customers on the app’.

Customers will earn 100 MyMacca’s Rewards points for every $1 spent on the app.

Once foodies receive 2,500 points and more, they can redeem their rewards on a range of fan-favourite menu items, such as McCafé coffees, cheeseburgers, fries, and Big Macs.

However, there are fees that come with using the delivery service:
  • Delivery costs are in line with existing partner pricing.
  • Fees on orders of $12 or more will be $3.99, plus a 5 per cent customer service fee. This will be applied to the total.
  • Orders under $12 will be charged a $2 minimum order fee.
‘We’re always listening to our customers and looking at ways we can evolve their experience through innovation,’ Mark Wheeler, Digital Director at McDonald’s Australia, said at the time the app was launched. You can read more about this announcement here.

‘McDelivery through the MyMacca's app is part of McDonald's ongoing commitment to providing customers with greater convenience, value and rewards,’ said Tobi Fukushima, McDonald's Australia's Marketing Manager.

He added: ‘Since the nationwide launch last month, we’ve seen thousands of customers use the service to access exclusive deals, earn points and redeem rewards. This limited-time, great-value offer is exclusive to customers on their first McDelivery order via the MyMacca’s app.’

Not a fan of the calories in a Big Mac? Fitness coach Bec Hardgrave has the solution for you. In a recent TikTok video, Ms Hardgrave shared her secret to ordering a ‘mini’ version of McDonald’s Big Mac – including its iconic classic taste – while reducing the calorie count and the cost.

In her post, she said all you need to do is order a cheeseburger and make some changes: You get one beef patty and no bun in the middle. This should cost you less than a Big Mac, too, bringing the total to around $5.50. You can read more about Ms Hardgrave’s tip here.

In a similar instance, fitness coach Lauren Simpson shared her recipe for the classic McDonald’s Apple Pie! Not only is this homemade version just as delicious, but it’s also much healthier at only 160 calories.

The best part is you only need a handful of simple ingredients, such as cinnamon, eggs, and apples, to make a batch of four identical pies. To find out the entire ingredient list and how to make the ‘fakeaway’ pies, you can read this article.

Well I am sorry, that's false advertising, they should be taken to task.

While reading this I kept hearing in my head BUT ... this is OK for those with a family but if it's one person or a couple they are not going to buy this ammount of food.

This is great for my family with having 2 teenagers at home.
We sometimes order the family meal deal for $30 .

And if you live in an area where there is no delivery you miss out!

So sorry, and I don't mean to offend but whilst reading this story my mind worked overtime imagining 3 or 4 pensioners in their retirement home sitting around a table putting some of their hard-earned pension money together to be able to place an order for 30 bucks worth of "food" which will not be good for them to get a free meal. Then came the final reckoning, who's going to get the free meal? Have you ever tried to split a Big Mac 3 or 4 ways, counting the chips is easy because there aren't that many of them! I did not come to a result other than the situation would end in severe injuries no matter which way it goes! Sorry, Maccas.
