When I get an email like this one I always check my MGov account and 9 times out of 10 there is nothing there.
Same here. Seems such an easy thing to do and I am 85

It doesn’t matter what the “from” email address is.
If you log into MyGov any other way than going to the MyGov app and log in with your log in and password you are a fool and deserve to be scammed..
that is cruel. I know a very smart elderly lady who loves her games and ways to contact people, but would be scammed if not for family, she contacts them to check. For her. Our generation had nothing like this in our lives and were very trusting.
I check everything.

When they introduced MyGov I was called into CentreLink and they showed me how to setup a MyGov account. I was selling and building Computers etc at the time..
This meant that I knew the jargon and was able to do most of the setup myself as the idea and program was new as it was all but a Beta version.
So In CentreLink it all worked fine and seemed like a good idea.
Afterwards, at home, I commenced placing the required information and for the first week it worked great.
After the weekend, I had gather further information to enter. BUT NO it didn't work as planned. Somebody had included a so-called FUNNY trick into the login sector that caused about 2-300 blank webpages to open. This affectively made the MyGov page inoperatable
So I rang Centrelink and THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS... It was obvious that an employee of Centrelink had done it, I proved that to them. The reply was --- OK ... We are refreshing the site next month and that rubbish will be removed. I lost interest as they FAILED TO DO ANYTHING (TO MY KNOWEDGE) ABOUT THE "FUNNY" guy in Brisbane.
CENTRELINK COULDN'T GIVE A BRASS RAZOO ABOUT THAT 'EARLY DAY HACKER ... and I believe that the majority of Hacking is connected to someone employed by the government or have connections with someone, (like ex-employees with knowledge)
THE FACT IS THAT IT IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT THE PEOPLE CONCERNED DON'T CARE, UNTIL SOMEONE SHOVES IT UNDER THEIR NOSES.
BTW. Hackers were found in the cloud (which is not a cloud but a large computer system made for storage .. and collection of information.

Obvious to me BUT I get a dozen a week from anywhere. Check the email address carefully BEFORE clicking the item.

I concur, I always double check with the app. I never click on any email or txt msg links.
I'm a proud 'Blocker' and a 'Spam/Scam Reporter'. I won't even answer a phone call unless you're a Contact!! If it's that important, leave a msg!! 😂😂🌻
Exactly! Me too!!

Yep always report these as spam & block. You can never be too careful these days.

Yes I received that one to DELETE Block.

Can't subscribers communicate using proper English. Many elderly users may not always understand modern computer speak. For example what is an "addy". Meaningless to most people.
Maybe some of as "Oldies" would be thankful if you tell us what " addy' means?? ☺;)

The 1st line with that email address is a dead giveaway.
