I concur, I always double check with the app. I never click on any email or txt msg links.
I'm a proud 'Blocker' and a 'Spam/Scam Reporter'. I won't even answer a phone call unless you're a Contact!! If it's that important, leave a msg!! 😂😂🌻
yeah, same here, if it's important then leave a message

When I get an email like this one I always check my MGov account and 9 times out of 10 there is nothing there.
I do too but my phone is dead atm, dropped on corner of a brick grrr so have to wait till it's fixed to access ......easier to just head up there and get it sorted out I think.

If anyone has received a call from Telstra recently, advising that there is something wrong with their internet connection 1) Ask them if they are from Telstra - they will say yes. 2) Then ask them for your account number - the phone will go dead.

Can't subscribers communicate using proper English. Many elderly users may not always understand modern computer speak. For example what is an "addy". Meaningless to most people.

"Addy", I suppuse, is one of the latest examples of shortening as many good, strong words into meaningless modern drivelspeak for the sake of it.
Obviously short for "address", but why? Too stressful to type the whole word? Not educated enough to spell the word correctly?

MyGov never ever says what the email is about either.
They only inform that there is a message in your MyGov inbox.

You neglected to 'addy' that it is obviously obvious to YOU.

Since this is a site named Seniors Discount Club and assuming there are retirees here I would suggest to engage with the scammers (knowing they are scammers) for something to do and do a social service to distract them from scamming others and not in Drs waiting rooms because they are lonely and bored that can led to health issues.

Report the details to Scam Watch.

The email address is a dead giveaway. Delete and block. If you "have time, call," or notify ATO or CentreLink.

Why bother?

The only time I attempted to reported a scam, they asked more questions than the prosecutor at a murder trial.

I was waiting for the question "What colour underwear are you currently wearing?"

As soon as I see a message either from MY GOV Centrelink or another Government Dept.
The first thing that strikes me is the way they address oneself. I don't bother to read the message
just look up the "sender " which gives me the answer I am looking for. Then I hit the " Delete " button.

yeh I agree the internet has become a mine field for people especially elderly, someone has tried to access my mygov recently and I am locked out.........a trip up the road is needed for me I think
Yes I got a Email from my.gov saying some one had tried to get-in but they had 3 goes at it and now it is locked, but the Email also gave me a new user name to use with my old pass word and it reads as if it came from my.gov, there is no links in the email just I am locked out and a new user name to get back in ?? as I donot use mt.gov very often I have not unlocked it, yes it is locked for now it says it is temp locking of but who ever tried do not get in they had the wrong pass word 3 times

I received the one below today, nothing in my actual myGov account so be warned, this is another scam.
