Dashcam Footage Shows Reckless Move at Supermarket Car Park - Did This Shopper Go Too Far?

Navigating through a crowded car park can be quite a challenge, especially when other drivers and pedestrians make reckless moves.

It's not uncommon to come across a ‘selfish’ driver who puts others in danger by disregarding basic parking etiquette.

Whether it's double parking, taking up multiple spots, or cutting off pedestrians, these actions can be frustrating and even hazardous.

But a recent incident in a Woolworths car park has left many people shaking their heads in disbelief.

The incident was captured on a dashcam and subsequently shared on Facebook, garnering criticism from thousands of social media users.

At a car park reportedly located on the Gold Coast, a woman trying to reverse her car into a vacant spot encountered an obstacle in the form of an inconsiderate shopper's trolley.

The shopper left her trolley right behind the reversing car, even though the trolley bay was just a few steps away.

This selfish move not only made it difficult for the woman to park her car, but it also created a potential hazard.

Needless to say, this infuriated the driver who got out of the car and walked over to her.
While it's hard to see from the video, it's possible the woman was yelling at the shopper for her irresponsible behaviour.

She then grabs the trolley as if to make a point, yanking it up over the pavement and walking it all the way to the trolley bay.

The video soon made its way to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook group, where it was met with shock and outrage by other drivers.

One angry user wrote: ‘This makes me so mad. The laziness is next level.’

'Perfect example of what's wrong in today's society! Complete disregard for anyone else, too hard to walk another six steps,' another fumed.

In fact, we previously reported about how some shoppers were left frustrated after other customers left their trolley at a Coles car park.

Based on the response, it appears that this behaviour is more prevalent than anticipated, as many people have reported witnessing similar instances of trolley dumping at their nearby supermarket car parks.

One person shared: ‘See it all the time people are too lazy to put their trolleys in the trolley bays. Even if the bay is right beside them.’

‘This is nothing new. Happens in every supermarket in Australia in every town. Lack of respect for people's cars – that's all it is,’ another added.

The video shows blatant disregard for other shoppers. So close the the trolley bay. Yes lots of people do it. Some use the excuse that they need to collect children, others have cold items and, they need to get it into the fridge/freezer. No it’s not the responsibility of the staff to run around and collect your trolley, they are paid to collect the trolleys from the bays and return them.

The fact that the trolley bay was only a few more feet away was so wrong of the woman to leave it where she did and it seemed like it was pure laziness.
Although there was a cement divider so the car that was reversing shouldn't have hit it and maybe over reacted .

To be honest I have left trollies behind similar cement barricades due to there not being any trolley bays . I feel in alot of shopping centres definitely need more bays .
I would never leave a trolley where it can run into a car

The trolley bay was on a raised pathway and for some that would be a struggle lifting the trolley up from the road to the footpath including pregnant and disabled people

The concrete barricade is to stop the vehicle's wheels! There is a lot of overhang that would actually run into the trolley.

How stupid are those people who say it's the responsibility of the trolly collectors. A car park is large if this incident happens when they are the other end of car park how can they see that the woman backing into that space couldn't because of the selfishness of the other woman who left it. ???

The sooner the big supermarkets start making a charge for trolleys the better, this would make most people return the trolley to a bay and if they didn't someone else would come along and return the trolley for the cash. I always return trolleys that have been left by selfish people to a trolley bay it only takes a minute to do the right thing

According to the web cam the trolley did not impede the driver to park her car. The trolley was in front of the yellow concrete border. Did the driver have one of those monstrosity SUVs where you need 2 car spaces to park both side and front?
Get real people, not every one does what you want. So stop spreading what YOU think is right.

Isn't that what you're doing?? No matter what you are supposed to return the trolley to the bay, what do you think they are there for. Some people are just too lazy to get out of their own way.

Yes spot on, you never see Aldi trolleys floating around the carpark.

The trolley did impede the driver. The concrete blocks are to stop the wheels not the front or back of the car. They are so you don't go too far onto the walkway so pedestrians don't bump their legs on tow hitches etc.

Pity that you actually need to have to explain this to some people, would have thought it was plain common sense.

It is absolutely not OK. That shopper was irresponsible and lazy. What would her reaction have been, had someone done that to her?
Next time this happens to me, I will get out of my car and move the trolley to behind the reversing shopper and leave it there.

Totally wrong, the other infuriating thing is the thoughtless lazy people who park in the disability areas. This happens frequently at Woolworths in Kingsgrove NSW. No one takes responsibility for this the parking area doesn't belong to Woolworths.
