Cool a wine bottle in 10 MINUTES using this 'tea towel' method!

Picture this scenario: The sun is shining, your favourite bottle of wine is waiting to be opened, and your mates are on their way over for an afternoon of booze and good times.

Life is fantastic, everything's going good… that is, until you realise you forgot to put the wine in the fridge.

With only a few minutes left before they arrive, is there anything that you can do? And no, putting ice cubes in their glasses of wine is NOT an option. (Unless you’re drinking really fast, way before the ice can even melt, which we don’t *necessarily* recommend.)

Deep breaths, folks, don't panic yet! Your precious get-together isn't doomed; there's still hope for you and your warm wine.

Thanks to this little-known hack we saw on Instagram, your wine will be perfectly chilled in just ten minutes.

You read that right, folks! Perfectly chilled in just ten minutes – and all you need is a tea towel.

Australian television host Shelly Horton has revealed how to cool wine quickly. Credit: Instagram/@shellyhorton1.

Aussie journalist and TV star Shelly Horton, from the Gold Coast in Queensland, shared a brilliant wine-chilling hack on her Instagram page and it's nothing short of amazing!

All you have to do is wrap the bottle in a damp kitchen roll or a damp tea towel and stick it in the freezer. When you take it out after ten minutes, you'll be left with an ice-cold beverage for you and your guests.

It's as easy as that!

"It cools at like 5000 times the pace," said Shelly in the video, holding her chilled Riccadonna sparkling wine.

Several of her followers thanked her for the tip, with many expressing their surprise that they just found out the trick only recently.

Now that your wine is nice and cool, all that's left is to pour it into wine glasses, serve it to your guests, and enjoy. Happy drinking, folks!

Oohh.....don't put it in the freezer 'just in case', with the risk of forgetting it's in there and it explodes.
I'd suggest you only use this method if you do need it.
Not likely to "forget it" as the reason for putting it in there was that you didn't have chilled wine and your guests are about to arrive. I think it would be forefront in your mind for the 10 minutes required.
AND from personal experience this method does work to chill the wine.
