I shall list a proverb and one that means the opposite... then others may add their own? Have a go....

Maybe also "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." and "The squeaky wheel gets the grease."

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough at the start. For a lot of proverbs there are others that refute that proverb as per the examples. Ted
