Coffee Lovers, You're Not Drinking the Good Stuff Unless You've Tried This 'Magic Brew' – the must-try secret menu item

Whether you're a retired barista or a coffee lover who likes to experiment at home, you know that brewing the perfect cup of coffee is both an art and a science. There are a lot of different variables that go into making a great cup of coffee, from the beans you use to the grind, the water temperature, and even the type of brewing method.

If you're new to brewing your coffee, don't let that intimidate you! Part of the fun of coffee is figuring out how to make your perfect cup. And once you find the right recipe, it's oh-so-satisfying to be able to replicate it time and time again.

Speaking of the perfect mix, did you know that one 'secret' blend has recently been taking coffee lovers by storm?

The must-try 'Magic' blend is readily available at any café, according to true coffee connoisseurs, and once you sample it, you'll never want a regular latte or flat white again.

Leading baristas and coffee lovers are well aware of the highly potent combination of the brew, which is not 'explicitly' available on any coffee shop menu.

The mix, which was invented in Melbourne's café-lined streets in the 2000s, is technically a double ristretto, which consists of a short shot of an espresso coffee that is more powerfully concentrated, combined with a three-quarter flat white.

Coffee fans assert that the blend provides the 'optimal' coffee-to-milk ratio required for the ideal morning pick-me-up.

Despite being widely known in Melbourne, which is arguably the coffee capital of Australia, 'Magic' is still mostly unheard of across the rest of the nation and the rest of the world.

When coffee lovers outside Melbourne were asked about the blend, responses range from careless dismissal (it's old news, it's been around for years) to confusion (what are you talking about?), according to The Age.

For those of you who are living in Melbourne but have never heard of the blend, don't fret. It’s said that the coffee mix became popular even 'before coffee culture got too crazy,' hence the reason why only devoted coffee lovers are aware of its existence.

The coffee originated in Brunswick when Zenon Misko, a trademark researcher, tried to combine the two coffees one day when he thought of ordering a double ristretto when dining in a cafe and a flat white when he wanted a takeout.

After much trial and error, he discovered that three-quarters of a flat white was the ‘ideal’ amount of milk to pour on top.

'We both (Zenon and his barista) enjoyed the drink and I just said to her this is a really magical drink, and it just got coined “Magic” from that point on,' he shared.

Now, many Melbourne coffee fans said that ordering the beverage lets the staff know that you are an 'insider'.

Learning about local delicacies is a great way to get to know the culture of a place. It can also be a lot of fun! We're definitely excited to try this 'Magic' coffee that Melbourne coffee lovers are raving about!

Coffee is fast joining wine as the thing so much hogwash is spoken about. The "optimal" cup of coffee (or wine for that matter) is the one you enjoy and not one foisted on to you by the so called experts. When all is said and done it's only their opinion anyway.

All I know is coffee is continually getting researched to find something wrong with it.
However, the research always shows positive results, so no mud-slinging sticks!
