Chinese onion pepper steak yum

Chinese Onion Pepper Steak
Ingredients:
• 0.68 kg of beef strips
• 1 green bell pepper, sliced thick
• 1/2 onion, minced thickly
• 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 1/2 cups of beef broth
• 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
• 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
• 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
• 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
Instructions:
1. I place the beef, peppers, and onions in an electric pressure cooker.
2. I add seasoning, brown sugar, and soy sauce to the beef and peppers.
3. I pour beef broth into the Instant Pot, stirring to combine.
4. Securing the lid and ensuring it is closed, I set the pressure to high for approximately 15 minutes.
5. When it's done, I perform a quick release (or choose a natural release if I prefer the steak to crumble).
6. I remove the cover and press the Cancel button. Then, I switch the pressure cooker to sauté mode.
7. In a separate bowl, I mix 1/4 cup of cold water with a teaspoon of cornstarch. I stir the pepper steak mixture into the Instant Pot.
8. I bring it to a boil for 3 to 5 minutes.1000021221.jpg

I wish you didn’t have to use a pressure cooker, not an appliance that is used very often today. I realise you use it to make the steak more tender, but the recipe would be better if you chose how to make it with modern day appliances.

Hello 👋 Bezz, you can adapt this recipe and most recipes to a slow cooker. The cornstarch will tenderise the meat just the same. Good luck 👍

I believe pressure cookers today are a lot better and easier to use.
