Recipe from Women's Weekly Food

Serves 12 --- 15 minutes preparation

Ingredients
Cheat's vanilla slice
  • 250 g lattice biscuits
  • 300 ml milk
  • 600 ml thickened cream
  • 2 x 100g packets instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp canned passionfruit
Steps
Cheat's vanilla slice
  1. Line base and sides of a 26 x 16cm (base measurement) slice pan with baking paper, extending paper at long sides for handles. Place half the biscuits over base of prepared pan in a single layer, shiny-side up. Cut to fit tightly. Set aside.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat milk, cream and pudding mixture in a large bowl until thick, smooth and creamy (don't overmix; mixture will become lumpy). Carefully spread mixture over biscuit base in prepared pan; level top. Top with remaining biscuits, shiny-side up, cutting to fit tightly. Gently press biscuits down.
  3. Combine sifted icing sugar and passion fruit in a small bowl until smooth. Spread icing over top of slice. Chill for 1 hour or until firm. Transfer to a chopping board, then cut into squares. Serve.

I am sure you have always dressed well. Did you feel this was a strange contrast, black & white or was there a reason for this?
It was a large store and it was so customers knew who the consultants were. Alot of bridal stores do this.
To be honest it made it easy picking something out every day.
I would wear a black dress.
A black skirt with black boots or just throw on pants and top

Hopefully move

You have spoken before about selling up & setting up home on a plot with other family members. Perhaps this is the start of that action. I hope for every person concerned this does happen, though we know nothing happens overnight.

I never visited a bridal store so thankyou for the introduction to their workings.
You certainly dressed well in these outfits.

How much longer are you isolated there?

If you look at Abbey bridal reviews there are heaps up there for me.
The picture above was on all their social media's, introducing their staff
I will do as you say.
This was something you really enjoyed too, l think. Health always comes first & with the pain mentioned before, this was best for all concerned. Always a struggle financially but better for your health.

Thankyou for the chat. Please take care. Enjoy reading your comments & recipes. Hope hubby is keeping well. Hope you get over this period soon.

With covid? Until I get a negative test result probably another couple of days . Apparently as soon as you are not contagious it shows negative on the test. I just did another one but it's still positive Screenshot_20240226_013216_Gallery.jpg

Sorry for you. Had mine before Christmas, one week earlier than l had it in 2022. Under the same circumstances too. Went with the Seniors Social Club on the bus & ended up with it a few days later, only last year 5 of us on that trip ended up with COVID.

Prayers for a good recovery dear friend.

This is my 3rd time, first 2 days felt like crap. Dr gave me antivirals and I'm feeling pretty much normal .
Strange I feel exhausted and all my energy drained but can't sleep.
If I go out of my room I wear a mask but then get out of breath and dizzy. But only while wearing the mask, so I'm staying in my room.

I have to say the flu I had I think November I was so much sicker. That one attacked my chest and needed a double lit of antibiotics plus prednisone

Seen as I'm stuck in my room with covid I've been cleaning out my cupboard. I have so many clothes still with tags on that I don't want. SDC should do a post where people put up stuff they don't want.
I have heaps I would just give away
I would post to anywhere.
Great idea. I hope you recover very soon!

Sorry to hear you’ve been struck again for the third time! Hope you feel back to normal very soon.

Poor you. You have really got it bad. I slept most of the time on both occasions with the script, glad I'm not paying the $1,000 plus for this: need to take out a loan.

I think the mask inhibits breathing, especially given it moves in & out. Are we breathing a bit of carbon monoxide at these times because everything can't be expelled through the masks close knit fibres?

You are certainly doing something positive with your time, whether you wanted this or not. I am very hopeful your next test in a day or two will be negative & you will be released from your dungeon to do those things you enjoy doing. 🙏

Those antivirals work wonders but yes original price was $1,102

😮 seriously I didn’t know that learn something new every day.🙀hope I never get covid touch wood.👎
We all hope we never get this but nobody knows who may be a carrier at anytime.

Just like the 4 other people on our excursion l knew 2 days after the outing l had it. Whether the carrier was one of the servers where we dined that day or someone else we will never know but only 5 out of 60 people on the bus is strange & not even my wife was affected. Quick action via medication is a must.
