The carvings are indeed significant and beautiful.

Carvings created in Butchart Gardens - Master Carvers Charles Elliott of the Tsartlip Nation (born 1943) and Doug La Fortune of Tsawout Band (born 1953), crafted in or around 2004.

Australian First Nations People - circa 65,000

Canadian First Nations people - circa 12,000.

Australian Aboriginal Art is the oldest unbroken tradition of art making in the world ... NOTE: Previously, they had not been recognised as Australian citizens…imagine that!

Art is primarily judged based on how much money it will return when sold - or for personal enjoyment.

The comment to take away from others' art is ignorant.
Eg Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri - $2.4 million (2007)

Personally, if I could have my walls filled with Australian Indigenous Artwork I would be very happy - not only because I would get pleasure seeing it, also because it would be a very resilient investment indeed!

Thank you for the information. Much
appreciated. On my tours with APT, through W.A. and N.T., I had the privilege
to personally view a large amount of
Aboriginal rock art, including some contact art. While travelling through
Arnhem
