Budget

I don't know what other members think but am on a Disability Pension and as far as I can see is that there is no relief for us. My pension went up by 4.70. The cost of living is out of control. I think this Govt has totally ignored us.

In reply to Blondie17, the Labor budget did nothing for us either but the ball is in our court. Come voting day vote them out.

Agreed.
Labor has come out with a list of "great" things they are going to do for us, SO why the hell haven't they done them already???

The problem is who do you vote for? While Labor did nothing for pensioners the LNP will do even less.

Actually we know who and what the current arsehole is, so perhaps we should wipe him and try the new skid on your jocks?

if you wisely invested that $4.70...over 4 fortnights you can get a top line burger from mc Donalds (but no drink)....surely thats something to be grateful for

Far Canal?

Anthony Albanese is far from perfect. But Peter Dutton is even further from perfect. The words and mannerisms of PD speak for themselves. 👿

Doesn't really matter it will down to the donkey vote.

I feel the same way. Pensioners are always ignored when it comes to the distribution of money to us. Really, $1.75, what a joke. You try living on an Age Pension Pollies.

Unless we all pay more tax, there is only so much money to go around. The cost of living has also affected government costs.

The present Government doesn’t seem to think there’s a shortage of money by the way they are splashing it around the last year or so.

They have already put up our taxes with the GST. According to a very senior public servant I knew, when the GST was first introduced, they had no idea how much revenue they would get. When that first payment came in, they almost fell over, there was just so much money. But it didn't take them long to work out how to spend it. Most Federal public servants in Canberra are on 6 figure salaries now, and they really don't care what the people who actually built the country get to live on.
