How does Kara manage this without spending hours in the kitchen? Every Saturday morning, armed with basic ingredients and an armoury of simple recipes, she spends just a quarter to half an hour cooking up her meals for the entire week.

'I’ve been meal prepping for a few years now, and honestly, it makes me feel so organised and on top of things.' Kara shared.

But let's face it, not everyone wants to spend the whole weekend over a hot stove. So, how does Kara mitigate this? By choosing recipes that she not only enjoys making but also aligns with her budget and taste good.

She said, 'I like to make sure I’m not spending hours in the kitchen when I’m meal prepping, as no one wants to spend their whole weekend making food. It’s just about finding recipes you enjoy making, work for your budget and taste good.'

As the cost of groceries has risen, Kara was inspired to create simple recipes on social media for less than $10 to help struggling shoppers.

"Apart from these tips, what do you need? A well-stocked pantry, says Kara."

Well, DUH!
I've got one of them, too, and it's only cost me about a grand to establish over the past few years.... plus a s***load of nagging from The Other 'alf about the (her opinion) overstocked pantry; she has, of course, never gone hungry during any of the past twelve cyclone seasons, nor has she ever died of boredom with having the same old same old, but I digress.... Seriously, SDC?

Rice, Potatoes, Pasta, Oats, all grains and wheat turns into sugar in one's body. It's heavy carbohydrates which spikes blood sugars and turns into fat.

I used to this when I was working, only catch when kids become teenagers and get home from school they eat everything in the freezer, including all the pre-made dinners.

I don’t remember the last time a tin of corn cost 85 cents. In my local Coles even when it is on special it is $1.20. And as for $4.47 chicken fillets ….. fantasy land.

Rice, Potatoes, Pasta, Oats, all grains and wheat turns into sugar in one's body. It's heavy carbohydrates which spikes blood sugars and turns into fat.
Where are all the green veggies??? So unhealthy!!!!!

It was only 450g of chicken fillets. That’s about right.
