Broadcaster Alan Jones taken into custody after several allegations

In a recent turn of events, former broadcaster Alan Jones was taken into custody Monday morning.

The NSW Police arrested the 83-year-old over severe allegations of indecent assault which happened during his tenure.

Jones' arrest marked a significant moment for the individuals involved and for community members who often look at public figures as examples of conduct and trustworthiness.

Alan Jones, once a 2GB talk-back radio host, has been accused of indecently assaulting, groping, or inappropriately touching multiple young men throughout his career.

These allegations rose after The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age brought Jones' questionable behaviour to light in an article.

According to an investigation by the NSW Police, some of the allegations have already spanned 60 years.

This prompted the formation of Strike Force Bonnefin in March 2024.

According to both publications, Jones's attitude towards a diverse group of individuals was inappropriate.

His alleged victims included a former 2GB employee, a waiter, an aspiring musician, and a young businessman.

These allegations cover incidents alleged to have occurred between 2001 and 2019.

'Child Abuse Squad detectives have arrested a man following an investigation into alleged indecent assault and sexual touching offences spanning two decades,' the Police stated.

The arrest happened at a unit in Circular Quay, as a search warrant was executed.

Police vehicles were also present around Jones's luxury residence building.

In response to the allegations published last December, a statement released on behalf of Jones claimed the accusations were 'demonstrably false'.

'In the short time available since publication, we have obtained substantial factual information which contradicts and refutes the alleged pattern of conduct by Mr Jones,' the statement read.

'We have retained senior counsel and have instructions to immediately serve a concern notice under section 12A of the Defamation Act as the first step in the commencement of defamation proceedings.'

Last year, Jones released an initial statement through his legal team.

'Our client denies ever having indecently assaulted the persons referred to in your letter, and your suggestion that he has is scandalous, grossly offensive and seriously defamatory of him,' the statement wrote.

The community's reaction to the allegations towards Jones was a mix of disbelief and betrayal.

Ray Hadley, who has worked with Alan Jones for over three decades, addressed the allegations with caution.

'We all have to make sure that justice is not, in any way, interfered with by comments made by broadcasters like me,' Hadley stated.

'My main concern at the moment is the victims in this matter. I would not do anything to jeopardise those people seeking justice at the moment.'

This latest development raised questions about people's safety in the workplace, especially when dealing with influential figures.

It should serve as a reminder that celebrity status does not exempt one from accountability.

It's also a call to action for all organisations to have robust policies in place to protect their employees and others from harassment and assault.

Shame on him !! 😠 😡.

He abused and took advantage of his high profile life. He had got away with sexualy abusing young men for many many years including when he was a teacher in his 20s.

A pity he wasn't arrested last year when this started coming out.

I know many say Innocent until proven guilty but these police and Dectives have plenty of evidence.

He has been charged with abusing young men over the past 60 years including up to 2019 .

Shame Shame Shame on you

Yeah,he’s a horror. Been rumours about his proclivities for years and years but his “status” always got him off. He’s a horrible piece of work. I always considered him a bully and a boor.

This shirt lifting parasite deserves to be in mainstream prison.

NO BONEYARD FOR YOU! FACE THE CONSEQUENCES YOU DISPICABLE LOW LIFE MAGGOT!

You deserve no protection for your actions. Rot in the festering rectum you desire to indulge to live in.

Some dogface bitch said on this morning's Today Show that Jones has more power than any Australian Prime Minister in power over the last 30 odd years. What power will he yield when he is fed his own genitals while getting his flaccid old man body beaten to a pulp, within one inch of his decrepit, disgusting life.

Watch the poo pushing cock jockey try to get off on some bullshit technicality.

ANYONE WHO DEFENDS THE ACTIONS OF THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR HUMAN BEING IS NO BETTER THAN HIM!

There are many more, both here and overseas, who try to escape penalty by being a "celebrity" in their own mind.

Celebrity profiles on display is and has been the inspiration for the less talented people, who become fodder for the entitled, who use their influence to gain trust, and immediately destroy it, with the innocents believing the contact with the prominent figure, will raise their own personal ambitions. Denial is their first defence, money position and expensive lawyers come next, with no thought of the victims!! I as many are disgusted with this and others who have a blited past where paedophilia has been the ultimate goal of this privileged class.

To those hoping fellow prisoners will make him suffer if he's convicted and gaoled, I believe there's as much chance of his being put with the general prison population as there is of hell freezing over.
Unfortunately I believe you’re right.

Some “celebrity” prisoners are not just in protection for their “safety”, but I know of one in a Perth prison who was not only in protection, but treated like a king; given special treatment.

The evil coward eventually hung himself. David Birnie 1951 - 2005. Pity he was ever born.

I must admit that I only heard of this last year....if it is indeed true and he is convicted then I hope he stays there for the rest of his despicable life. I too was a 'victim' in my very early teens, until now only 1 other person close to me has heard my story....glad to finally get it off my chest.

I feel for you Maggie. As a 14 year old who was almost raped by a totally naked male in a toilet on a wet and miserable July winter day at South Cronulla Beach, I have ABSOLUTELY NO COMPASSION for the sickening dirtbag poofters of this world.

The experience was not mentioned to ANYONE for over 15 years. Any c**t who pulls the same stunt again will be quickly dispatched.

Along with the first in 1986.

My so called father I hate even calling him that. Is currently serving 8 years in Cessnock jail for sexually abusing his daughter my half sister and his granddaughter. I also know he abused two more of my sisters who went on to become heroin addicts.
Sperm donor will be released in February, he got 11 years but due to good behaviour he will be out after 8.
He turns 82 in 2 weeks he was 74 when he was sentenced.

It took The Detectives 2 years to gather enough proof to put him away.

I hate judging but I was hoping he would have died in jail. He ruined my sisters lives.

I was a lucky one, my grandparents raised me from birth.

I truly believe Alan Jones will most likely end his own life before he faces court.

All his property and wealth should be divided between his victims. Nothing will stop their nightmares and the horror of what was caused, but at least they can be helped to make their life a little easier.

One of the hardest things to do is to come out and let it be known what happened to you.

By these victims coming out, it may actually help others .

These victims are very brave, and I applaud them.

Sorry to hear your experience too Veggie.....I have the exact same feelings about these dirtbags and the poor kids who get molested by them....they would not want to try that again with me either....I'd probably end up in the can.
