Bride fuming over ‘GHASTLY’ wedding cake fail - “I would have cried!”

Picture this – the day you’ve been waiting for. All your family and friends gathered in a picturesque spot, happily waiting for you to walk down the aisle. This is a moment that you will frame to display up a wall someday. This is a celebration of oneness with the love of your life.
And what does every celebration call for? That’s right, a cake. But the cake you ordered… looks despicably horrendous. That’s probably every bride’s nightmare in a nutshell. Unfortunately, one bride was left with no choice but to face this reality.
Sara, reached out to a local baker to request a four-tier doughnut wedding cake to be made for her special day after discovering that the baker was highly recommended on social media.
Despite planning her wedding day out rigorously, Sara was left ‘seething’ when the baker showed up at the venue ‘super late’ with a broken cake stand and the wrong type of doughnuts.
Sara shared her disappointment in a TikTok video saying: “She’s going in and out in Crocs [sandals] and sweat pants in front of my guests trying to set up this cake. It was just a mess”.
The recently wedded said she enlisted a baker to put together the doughnut tower for $335 because she ‘didn’t want to have to worry about it on the day’.

“It’s so frustrating because we definitely could have done this so easily but here we are,” she explained. “Cake decorating is super difficult... putting doughnuts on a cake stand is not.”
The week of her wedding, Sara shared she already knew that something wasn’t quite right.
“I texted her, ‘Hey, I’m excited to have the cake on Saturday’. She texted back, ‘Great’. And I’m like, ‘Is there anything you need from me?’ She goes, ‘No, all I’ve got to do is the baking’,” the bride explained.
“I was willing to work with her so this would’ve been the moment for her to be like, ‘I’m overwhelmed, I need help’. And we would have made it happen but instead, we get to the morning of my wedding and I’m like, ‘Something is wrong’.”
The baker agreed to show up at the venue to set up the cake at 3:30 pm but didn’t show up.
“She was supposed to be there at 3:30 pm, my ceremony was at 4 pm, and everyone would be at the reception area at 4:30 pm,” she clarified.
“If she showed up when she was supposed to, she would’ve had an hour to set up the cake. But that’s not what happened.
“Instead at 3:30 pm, my event coordinator started calling her every five minutes asking, ‘Where are you?’ but she wasn’t answering her phone because she knew she was super late.”
Thankfully, her quick-thinking bridesmaids were there to save the day. The bridesmaids decided to drop by a nearby supermarket to buy a cheesecake for the reception.
“We had these little jars that guests were putting money in to see who would get the cake smeared on their face so we had to have something to cut,” she explained.
“My bridesmaids and coordinator had to scramble to get something out there and it was postponing our entrance.”
Sara and her now-husband were doing a last-minute photoshoot before joining the guests at 5 pm.
“We’re about to go up to do our entrance... and all of a sudden, she arrives,” the bride recalled.
“We made eye contact at one point... I was seething but I had to let it go because I didn’t want it to ruin our wedding. At the end of the day, I married my best friend and I’m never going to speak to this woman again.”
As though the situation wasn’t already a mess, Sara said the baker ‘dropped everything off in boxes and ran’.
“She realised her stand was broken and everyone was seated for the reception because she was so late,” she said.
Her bridesmaids along with the event coordinator ended up assembling the doughnuts and cake onto a platter for guests to enjoy.
After the wedding, Sara said her coordinator followed up with the baker to discuss the cake failure.
“She did eventually return our money to us a couple of months later. She did own up to it and she did refund us to her credit. And that’s the story of my cake.” she added.
Sara’s TikTok video has amassed nearly one million views and over a hundred thousand likes, with users flocking to the comments to share their reactions.
“Did you cry? I would have cried.” one person wrote.
“I mean…. It’s not even CLOSE! And honestly, it’s a simple cake and just a ton of doughnuts!” another criticised.
“Wooooooooow. Nailed it!” a third sarcastically joked alongside several laughing emojis.
